Screenwriter, author, blogger, writing coach, and former English professor, Dr. Diana Stout is an award-winning writer in multiple genres and multiple media: fiction (long & short; romance, mystery, gothic/psychological thriller, fantasy, literary), non-fiction (cookbook, how-to), former newspaper and magazine columnist, screenplays (drama, family, comedy, romance), plays, and poetry.'s served as a judge for local, regional, and national writing contests (fiction, non-fiction, screenplay) and edited an anthology for a writer's group she belonged to at the time.

In addition to her own three blogs, she's a regular guest blogger for the award-winning blog for writers, Writers in the Storm.

She's served as a judge for local, regional, and national writing contests (fiction, non-fiction, screenplay), been a presenter at various conferences and organizations throughout the United States, and teaches online through WriterUniv.com from time to time.

She enjoys helping other writers improve their craft and has declined editing jobs so that she can focus on her own writing. Today, she writes full-time as an indie publisher through her production company, Sharpened Pencils Productions, LLC.

She travels with a crowd: characters clamoring it's "My turn next!" and those who communicate with her from the other side. When not writing, she enjoys watching movies, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and is a substitute volunteer at her local library.
