I'm the senior media specialist at a public middle school in Connecticut. Before I got my double-masters in library science and instructional technology, I taught 6th grade English and Social Studies. I love being a teacher, and I love that my job lets me spend money on books and read! I read tons of middle grade and young adult books in every conceivable genre (I save the grownup books for the summertime), and I write reviews to help students and parents find books. I don't post negative reviews -- I read so much that I only focus on the positive ones. I was a first-round judge in the Middle Grade-Young Adult Nonfiction category last year for the Cybils Awards, and I'll be doing that again this year. I loved the challenge and I'm looking forward to doing it all again! At home I have an understanding husband, two kids, three cats (since we brought the two kittens home), and an extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and the best brother-in laws and amazing sister-in-law I could have ever dreamed up.
