Sobre la meva biblioteca

Welcome to the personal library of... [drumroll please] the one.. the only... DU Metaphysical Society!

Come on in, hang up your coat, make yourself at home. Don't forget to wipe your shoes on the doormat. Once all that settling in is done just go ahead and grab a cuppa, sink into that well-worn chair in the corner and get ready to crack open one of our beloved books. Fill your mind with mysterious things. Silly things. Freaky, even. Go forth into the unknown, or the known! New beginnings and old friends both to be found here at the Metafizz Library. All we ask is that you come with an appetite, for we've got many a book with which to sate it.

Happy readings !

Sobre mi

Now, at this point you may well be thinking to yourself: what in the hell is this 'Metafizz' thing about?

Simply put, the Metaphysical Society is all about being. In short, the Metafizz is. It’s been since 1929; the Trinity society of philosophy, no debating that. But what is a Metafizz, really? What can it even do? Certainly not philosophy, not just; nor only critical theory, dialectic, sociology, gender studies, avant-garde aesthetics, digital humanities, mysticism, no, not at all. Metafizz talks rather, by Erwin Schrodinger, A. C. Grayling, J.L. Austin, Alenka Zupančič, Jacqueline Rose, and Raymond Geuss, and what’s more, the Metafizz listens. Weekly you’ll find the society muttering to itself; talking of the Classics and the (Post)Moderns, Platonists and Neoplatonists, Deleuze and Guattari, East and West, What It Had For Lunch, and So On. Having its own library, which any member can access for business or pleasure, helps the conversation. Films are also screened by the society, because you know what they say about talking pictures. Most of all, the Metafizz is not a cult.
