Sobre mi
I was seriously myopic from early childhood and some family members used to put the blame on me because I was always reading under the duvet with a torch. It didn't put me off. My eyes got worse, but I studied English and German literature and linguistics, trained as a bookseller and later on threw art history into the equation. I moved from Germany to England, mainly because of a poem by Wordsworth, another one by Auden, and many a Victorian novel. I was not disappointed. Daffodils everywhere and everything is a rich shade of green because of all the rain. I found work in a bookshop in Charing Cross Road in London and never looked back. My generous godfather paid for laser surgery and I got my eyes fixed. I no longer work in bookselling but 'once a bookseller, always a bookseller'. I dabble in editing, publishing, translating, teaching, non-fiction writing and it is fair to say that I collect books. My house is bursting at the seams. I secretly admire librarians. They are my heroes.
