About Me

I am Associate Professor of Historical Theology at Colorado Christian University. I am also a Fellow of the Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist Studies and a board member of the Davenant Institute and I lecture at Munster Bible College, Cork, Ireland. I have a PhD from the University of the Free State (Bloemfontein) under the supervision of Adriaan Neele where I wrote a dissertation on Arnold Dallimore and evangelical historiography. It was published as "Reformed Evangelicalism and the Search for a Usable Past" (Vandenhoek & Ruprecht, 2020). I also published a version of my master's thesis as "God Crowns His Own Gifts: Augustine, Grace, and the Monks of Hadrumetum" (2021). Before those I wrote a thesis on the influence of patristics on James Ussher's christology for a master of theology at Toronto Baptist Seminary. I also had the pleasure of co-editing "The Pure Flame of Devotion: A History of Christian Spirituality" (Joshua Press, 2013) and "Pentecostal Outpourings: Revival in the Reformed Tradition" (Reformation Heritage, 2016).

I'm married with four kids.
