- About My Library
- I have over 5,500 volumes in my library. Main focus on islands, travel, discovery and exploration, (maritime) history, books about books, biography, atlases and erotica. Here on LT, I plan to add my non fiction books and mainly those that are in English, German or French. Adding my books to LT is quite a tough job since so many of them are pre-ISBN or otherwise can't be found in on-line book resources. I found that 100's of my books are not even in the Library of Congress, for instance.
The tag 'ex-lib BB' used in my library means that this book has been acquired from the library of the late writer, collector, traveller and TV personality Boudewijn Büch [1948-2002].
(counting started Nov. 3, 2010 - About Me
- I'm a 50+ year old Dutchman who is mad about beautiful books. Book collecting is not 'a gentle madness' as Nicholas Basbanes holds, but a terrible, incurable disease that's getting worse as one gets older. But, it must be said, it's also the only disease that can be cured... by books.
