Quant a miA surprisingly large number of the guide books to all or parts of China by multiple publishers contain material originally by me although credit may now be given to others, and parts of coffee table books and reference works that touch on China may have a credit hidden away in tiny print somewhere. The all-my-own-work titles are out of print now, but I continue to write on China for the Wall Street Journal and other publications around the globe. I also write general travel features which tends to make my carbon footprint frighteningly large.

la meva bibliotecaQuite a large proportion of the books in my collection have some connection with China. (I note Library Thing doesn't do much of a job with Chinese-language titles.) Otherwise I'm interested in cosmology, in titles that try to make the complexities of modern scientific thinking clear to the layman, and in philosophical titles on mind, personal identity, and religion, and psychological discussions of the same issues. I have little time for fiction these days--it all seems too light, and I prefer to read something related to my own writing projects, or something in the categories I've just listed.
