Live from the Royal Albert Hall, London, Sean Rafferty presents Antonio Pappano conducting the Chorus and Orchestra of the Academy of Santa Cecilia, Rome, in a rare performance of Rossini's grandest of operas about the legendary founding fathers of Switzerland and the hero who shoots an apple from his son's head. Michele Pertusi takes the title role and the character of Arnold, one of Rossini's most demanding tenor parts, is sung by American tenor John Osborn. Rossini: William Tell (Act 1).
