What are we reading in November?

Only two months left in 2012! I'm starting off November with Alan Bradley's The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag. What are you reading?

I've just finished Mr. Peanut by Adam Ross and am continuing with Baudolino by Umberto Eco and The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood.

I finished reading the play November this afternoon - overall, a 'meh' response from me - and about to dive back into the last two parts of 2666.

I've finished Lumby's Bounty and am reading November Ever After and The House at Riverton

I'm listening to Trickster's Point by William Kent Krueger and reading The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf.

I've finished Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury and The Woman Who Died a Lot the fabulous continuation of the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde. I have now started Baudolino by Umberto Eco.

I'm mainly reading Language: the Cultural Tool and have a couple of other books just started.

I am reading We Band of Angels about American Nurses that were serving in the Philippines when war with Japan broke out. Excellent book. On a the lighter side, I am also reading The Chili Queen by Sandra Dallas.

I started I Know This Much is True and I'm enjoying the writing, but I've yet to grasp where the story is going.

Just finished How's the Pain? by Pascal Garnier and working out to review this excellent French noir and meanwhile started This Book is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don't Touch it by David Wong, the follow up to hilarious slacker horror John Dies at The End (Its fab so far).

Reading Falling to Earth by Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden and James Bond and Philosophy: Questions are Forever by James B. South

I'm reading The Land of Green Plums and listening to The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.

I have a few pages left in The Water's edge. A Karin Fossum book is ususally a satisfying read for me. I'm also reading Villette in spurts.

Finishing up Sacre Bleu and am continuing on with The Passage.

I've just started Light Boxes by Shane Jones, which is strange...not sure if it's in a good way or a bad way yet.

I'm tackling the doorstop (700+ pages) a fraction of the whole

I've finished the underwhelming The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf and am continuing with Baudolino's fantastic adventures and Margaret Atwood's The Robber Bride.

I've started Seinlanguage by Jerry Seinfeld.

I'm currently in a lull and aren't reading anything at all. I have started a couple of books, but my brain has decided that watching movies and cracking out on old TV-series is the only thing it wants me to do right now. :)

I finished The Land of Green Plums and I've started Speaking From Among the Bones, the 5th Flavia de Luce mystery. I've been under the weather and a dose of Flavia is exactly what I need right now!

I'm reading Changeless by Gail Carriger, great escapism.

I'm reading The Violinist's Thumb (about genetics) which I'm really liking and I've started the anthology An Apple for the Creature.

The Violinist's Thumb looks good.

ETA: I've started The Confessions of Max Tivoli.

I'm having a very bad month. I've abandoned two reads this month after not having done that for ages.

The Historian is beautifully written but frankly I have things I WANT to read and I really didn't much care what happened. I'm not a vamp girl, I guess.

The Sharing Knife - I love Bujold but really found this one annoying as hell. I couldn't stand 'Little Spark.'

On to The Ships of Merior and Death Warmed Over

The second one is an ER read and is quite funny. And I want to read the entire Wars of Light and Shadow series so thought I'd just start it now.

At school I started reading Ready Player One. It's full of 80s pop culture which makes me smile.

My husband loved Ready Player One. Enjoy!

I've begun Alan Bradley's A Red Herring Without Mustard. Trying to catch up with Flavia!

I've just finished The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood, allowing me to return to Baudolino.

Picked When the Bough Breaks by Jonathan Kellerman off my TBR pile when I was in a hurry leaving yesterday morning and am finding it better than I expected. Not sure why my expectations were so low.

I'm reading Early Reagan and listening to The Good Earth.

I've finished The House at Riverton and am almost done with November Ever After and am just starting Crime Brulee.

I'm reading Evelyn Waugh's A Handful of Dust.

I am reading Feed by Mira Grant and just about to start Journey to Topaz for my monthly read.

I finished 2666 and need something completely different to read so I am about to start Miss Buncle's Book by D.E. Stevenson.

I loved Ready Player One and also read and loved Speaking from Among the Bones, the latest in the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley. Another quick and fun read was Jasper Fforde's entry into the YA world, The Last Dragonslayer. The next will be Gone Girl which I just got from the public library. Still getting along with Baudolino too.

Have to add to my currently reading as of a few minutes ago. I just received my Oct. ER book, The Million Death Quake by Roger Musson. Can't wait to get started!

Baudolino is what I'm mainly reading, although I have Doors Open, Ian Rankin's stand-alone novel that comes between the end of Rebus and the beginning of Fox, for when my eyes are too tired to focus on the small print in my horrible mass market edition of Baudolino, and The Finkler Question on my kindle.

I'm reading A Casual Vacancy for fiction and alternating between Alone Together and Twinkie : Deconstructed for nonfiction.

I'm reading Alan Bradley's I Am Half-Sick of Shadows.

I'm finding The Million Death Quake to be very interesting and well-written for the general public. The information covered could be heavily scientific but the author has managed to keep it interesting and informative. I'm more than half-way through after only two days!

I've just started The Best Cellar. So far it's shaping up to be a fun cozy involving historical research and the Library of Congress.

I've finished Baudolino this morning. Ah, what to read next?

I'm reading Black Flower, a historical novel based on Korean immigration to Yucatan, Mexico, during the Russo-Japanese war. I'm still listening to The Good Earth and I'm on track to finish it this week.

I just read Dorothy Sayers' Are Women Human? (spoiler alert: yes) and am now starting Blackout by Connie Willis.

I'm listening to Quantum of Solace: The Complete James Bond Short Stories by Ian Fleming and reading Faithless by Karin Slaughter.

Just finished Say It with Poison by Ann Granger and The Case of the Missing Books by Ian Sansom. Now reading Miracle and Other Christmas Stories by Connie Willis.

Finished my ER book The Million Death Quake today. A Very interesting and informative book! Back to The Alienist now.

I am learning how to assassinate the French President in The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth

I seem to have gone rogue in my reading, having read Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? this past weekend, and am well into the entirely escapist A Wanted Man by Lee Child today.

I watched Camelot this past week and was inspired to read The Once and Future King. I remember reading it a long time ago. The anachronisms can be quite jarring but I'm living with them now.

I am struggling with The Mystic Rose by Stephen Lawhead, I think it's just not the book I want to read right now, but I am bound and determined to finish it as it's the third in the triolgy and I want to be done with it.

I have also started Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell and I am enjoying this short novella a lot.

Ugh, that's the worst when you are reading just to finish the book. I'm doing that now with an Ian Rankin, which I never thought could happen.

Of course, really I'm reading the new Jack Reacher. But that'll be finished tonight.

Having finished The house on the strand and the excellent Ack-Ack Macaque I'm now reading a Finnish book called the howling miller

I've finished Bootlegger's Daughter by Margaret Maron and started Just Desserts by Mary Daheim. I'm afraid of not making my goal over in the Books off the Shelf challenge so am trying to find quick reads for the rest of the year and I think cozies are pretty quick.

Having torn through the howling miller I find myself away from my TBR with 1 book to hand spanish short stories: cuentos en espanol (new penguin parallel text series) So guess its time to improve my Spanish..

Having finished Connie Willis' Blackout, I'm moving straight into All Clear.

Almost finished with The Fencing Master by Arturo Perez-Reverte.
