After reading one of Sibyx's fantastic reviews (Hot Reviews-Home Page))of one of the many books Murdoch has written, I wrote to Lucy and she told me about this group. I would love to hear what all of you have to say about Iris Murdoch; she has always fascinated me, after hearing about her in various literary magazines and watching the movie about her, although for the life of me I can't remember the title. In fact, right now I am in the process of trying to read some or all of each of the women writers who wrote during the early to mid 1900's. Presently I am reading a unique memoir of Madeleine L'Engle, Listening For Madeleine told by many people who knew her in many different ways, through family relationships, business, writing, etc. I am also reading Part One of Rumer Godden's two-part memoir A Time To Dance, No Time To Weep, which is followed up by A House With Four Rooms I have listened to a wonderful biography of Godden, A Storyteller's Life, which was fantastic. So I think this is a good time to read Iris Murdoch as well. And I always enjoy it so much when there are LT members adding their wisdom to the bounty. So, I'll find my cache of Murdoch books and pick one to start with and also read all the posts here. I can't wait! It's the literary life for me!
