BookMooch temporarily down

Sorry about this, but the BookMooch server has been dead since 5:30am this morning.

We're working on it now, but it's a bit serious (it isn't on the network at all) and so it might take a day or two to fix. I need to figure out what has gone wrong (possible the operating system, possibly hardware, possibly something else?)

I just heard back from my IT guy, and the problem is that the network card has blown up. He's going to Fry's computer store to buy a new one.

In the meantime, he got it up, and I verified that the database is fine. I'm backing up while he's at Fry's just to be super safe.

So, should have us all mooching again in a few hours!

Well, a positive sign that some maintenance is being done.

Not just you; I couldn't access it.

:( I'm always afraid when it goes down that it will never come back.

I would hope if that worse-case situation happened, John would be courteous enough to blog his decision for that.
