Greetings all, and thanks for the invitation, Gene. It's been quite a while since I visited LibraryThing, so I just noticed the invite from May.

The Plano library system is great, but I have had a difficult time finding the specialized types of classical history and theological works that interest me. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending upon your viewpoint), I've had to drive down to the Dallas Theological Seminary library and the SMU Bridwell library to find the types of books that interest me. We are lucky as Planonians(? :-) ) to have such great libraries in and all around our town!

Now a couple of related questions for you guys:

(1) Does anyone know a Plano library that owns the entire Classical Loeb Library series from Harvard? (This is a series of works that, in my opinion, no library should be without. It is a series of books that contain the classical works of ancient Latin and Greek writers. Works that used to be part of a liberal arts education a mere century or two ago, such as Aristotle, Plato, Livy, Cicero, etc.)

(2) Does anyone know of a Plano library that might have more detailed theological (ie. biblical history, biblical languages, etc.) than most? (About the most detailed work I've found so far is Raymond Brown's Introduction to the New Testament.)

Bryan, here is the home page for the Plano Library. If you look around this site you'll see how to get in touch with the librarians. You might try, also, the CCCC Library. Being a resident of Collin County qualifies you to check out books from their library.
