TODAY is my sixth Thingaversary and friend Sibyx's fifth.
I am ignoring the "only on your T'sary" protocol and spreading out the buying. Actually, I had never heard that caveat. On their way to me (and one might arrive today) are The Quick, The Cuckoo's Calling, and The Victorian House. I know that I'll get the new Shardlake when it comes out, and the other three are free for when I need them!
(Oh! I certainly won't read a comic or graphic novel this year unless things make a drastic change, but I look forward to the 20 years and appreciate the list!)

gen. 5, 2015, 11:47am

>17 LizzieD: Happy Thingaversary, Peggy. I didn't realize that you'd started on LT a week before me.

I don't necessarily buy my books on the day of. I've got books in mind and have already ordered a few and will order/get the rest by the time of the actual day.

gen. 6, 2015, 12:06pm

Ha ha ha: LibraryThing is a tribute to "no rules".

My Thingaversary is in 6 days!! It will be 7 years since I joined LT on Sept. 20!! I will have to put a reminder on my phone to hit the book store or to go to my library and buy books from their on going book sale!!

set. 14, 2015, 7:34pm

And then you have to post what you got!! 7 years is great. I am excited because today I just got an LT badge for being a fiver!! Although I joined in December, so I am not quite sure how that works...! : )

set. 14, 2015, 8:19pm

I also got a badge for being a fiver today!! That's when I remembered my Thingaversary was coming up. I would have forgotten otherwise.

set. 14, 2015, 9:13pm

Lol. It's all clear to me now. ; )

set. 15, 2015, 7:47am

Yesterday was Librarything's Thingaversary, so does that mean we all should rush out and buy books to celebrate? I'm pretty certain that it does...

set. 15, 2015, 9:16am

>31 scaifea: I wholeheartedly agree with you, Amber! Book buying for everyone!

set. 15, 2015, 1:21pm

10 years for Library Thing. I love it. I think I've got 8 years on my record. We've grown up together.

Definitely worthy of some book buying, or acquisition of some sort.

set. 18, 2015, 9:49pm

I called Sherman's and had them hold a copy of Armada by Ernest Cline, and it was just like the first blank page of a new notebook: as soon as it was done, I felt like I could breathe again. :) I'm also going to see if I can find a copy of The Red Notebook, which aktakukac posted yesterday and I promptly added to my wishlist.

Editat: set. 19, 2015, 9:15pm

oct. 3, 2015, 8:44pm

Today was my third thingaversary. Don't know which books to buy, though, I need to think about it a bit.

oct. 4, 2015, 7:39am

We are here for you! Read your threads, and Book Bullets Galore will hit you. Then you will know what to go buy! Congratulations for your anniversary.

oct. 4, 2015, 8:41am

Or go to the profiles of people whose taste you respect and soo what you should borrow from them.

I tried to test this idea by looking at what it suggests for you from my library. Um. Water for Elephants was good, as was The immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Otherwise it is a rather peculiar selection.

oct. 4, 2015, 8:53am

Ah, I'm terrible at remembering what type of books people in LT like. I don't spend enough time on here, and I'm not very thorough in reading people's threads. And I've got tons more books at home than that are in my LT library. I can't be bothered putting them in. I'm a bad LT:er, I guess.

I have thought about The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks before, thanks for reminding me.

oct. 9, 2015, 12:15am

I enjoyed Henrietta's story and BTW, LT is for fun, no guilt allowed. ; )

des. 13, 2015, 2:11pm
