Not a single one is a spy book...now come on, one of you must have the James Bond books, whoever ceated the group used an Ian Fleming picture.

Well, as far as I can see, williamc is a brand-new Thingamabrarian. (And welcome to LT!) He's got 130-odd books up, but clearly not those that go with either this group or my very own Hardboiled/Noir congregation. (If so, we might share something.) My own library, admittedly, is light on espionage, though it interests me. I run to Eric Amblers foolishly parted with, a beloved copy of Ashenden, some Graham Greene, and an unsatisfied interest in Furst. (Among other things.) No James Bond in the lot, I will admit - for your sake, lverner, apologetically.

He is brand new! Thanks for the welcome. My problems are 1) I'm a librarian, so I read the free stuff, and 2) I'm a recent grad school graduate, so all the good stuff is in storage 1,000 miles away (including some 1960s edition Bond books, a lot of Andrew Vachss, and a set of Agatha Christies -- only some of which relate here, but still, it's annoying.)

I don't even know how to look up authors and titles that are not in my catalog. Can you believe it?

Regarless, I'm glad you all found the Spy group.

I'm glad we did, also. :) I'll post a note on searching, etc., to your profile, as I expect most users here more than a couple days do know! Hope you and your books are soon reunited...

"Regardless, I'm glad you all found the Spy group."

Some of the earliest, um, "adult novels" I read were by Robert Ludlum and Adam Hall, so when I started getting back into reading spy fiction last year (with John Le Carre), I found myself desperately looking for a community like this one. So I guess I can say that I'm also glad that I "found the Spy group."

And as for "shared books," I started listing titles on my LibraryThing account before my interest in spy fiction was rejuvenated, so there may be little overlap between my titles and yours.
