Is there a safe way to remove an adhesive inventory sticker from a board cover? The book I purchased secondhand comkes with two on the cover, and they were stuck on the cardboard, not buckram.

My solution is lighter fluid. I often also score the sticker lightly with an exacto to allow hte solvent access to sink in. Soak the sticker once and let it sit. After a few minutes soak it again and peel carefully with thumbnail. Work in a ventilated area and wash hands afterwards.
