I have not yet read any books that classify as BFB's this year as I have been trying to whittle down my TBR pile ( I realise that this is never going to happen) but I may get one in before year end. I have been thinking about plans for my 2017 reading and it WILL involve some BFB's so I will be back with a vengeance next year. I do hope you would like this group to continue and I am willing to set it up again but would understand if someone else wants to do it or for it to disband, I will leave it up to you guys.
Happy reading in the remainder of 2016.

John, John, John! We must salvage this group for next year again. I know it is often difficult to work more than a couple or a few BFBs in per year but I truly love this challenge. It encourages me to read those huge bios & classics. So please, please be there/here for us again in 2017. We depend on ya, man!

>8 johnsimpson: >9 rainpebble: I have also fallen short of my goals this year, but I am determined to tackle some very big non-fiction next year, so I shall be happy to continue with you guys!

I'm in for 2017, John. I've read quite a few chunksters this year, but next year I'm focusing on finishing about 6-7 series, so I don't know how many I'll read. But I still like the BB's and reviews!

>12 Tess_W:, Thanks Tess.

>14 bryanoz:, Will do Bryan and hopefully it will be in 2017.

Ohhhhhhh, I need to pick up my BFB pace next year then. Should be a great challenge!

I'm definitely in for next year. I actually got through thirteen BFBs this year (several of them omnibus editions and one of them, Mary Poppins: 80th Anniversary Collection, being fairly large type).
I'm thinking of doing a lot more Library of Americas and also some Norton Criticals for the 2017 ROOTs challenge, and every LoA qualifies as a BFB (and most Norton Criticals do also, so long as you read the full supplementary material).
Doing LoAs and Norton Criticals, considering their lengths, will reduce my ROOTs goal (I may drop from 75 to 50 for 2017), but it might increase my BFBs for 2017 beyond my 2016 figure.

I may surprise you all by getting a BFB read before year end just to be part of this year's group but am looking forward to next year.

As promised I will be starting my first BFB of the year tonight, Sheer Abandon by Penny Vincenzi, 720 pages. This I will use as a warm up for 2017, ha ha.

Hi guys and gals, the new 2017 group is up and running, let's see if we can reach our mythical goal of 100 BFB's in a year between us.
