The Bridges of Madison County

The Bridges of Madison County, although very short was really good. I never saw the movie, and a patient loaned me the book, which I put off reading since the title just didn't interest me. It was a true story about love and sacrifice. I rarely cry - OK, not true - but this one made me cry at my desk in front of my boss, who thought I was a nut case (he already did anyway, this just confirmed it).
I don't know how many people could be so unselfish, and not be bitter about it.

Meryl Streep was great in this movie. The scene where she sees her lover leaving town while she's riding in the truck with her husband with her hand resting on the door handle ready to jump out, but doesn't, will break your heart.
