I love Changeling: the Dreaming. It is easily my favorite of all White Wolf's lines. Following that would be the Exalted line. If anyone knows some good online places to RP Changeling (or any real places near Jacksonville, FL) let me know.

Personally, I am a Werewolf the Apocalypse fan. I played it with the White Wolf fan club through the Year of Fire where End Game was amazing. The newer werewolf forsaken is not as good as it is too open.

I tend to LARP Vampire: the Masquerade and Vampire: the Requiem as well, but they are not my favorites, just the place where I can meet people.

I've always wanted to play some Changeling, but it's never gotten off the ground in my group. Nobody but me will run it, and I've never had the time and energy (I'm much more a player than a ST)

Jeltzz, I have the same issue here. I only get to play it if I run it, but tha's not really playing, imho.

Gilroy, what do you mean by too open? It sounds like a positive thing, but I don't know the context.

Too open... Let me see. Imagine if they said that there are 13 types of changelings, described them, and gave just a basic overview of the world, then left it alone from there. No real setting materials. No talk of the interaction among the changelings. This is almost what they do for Forsaken.

Reading the material, it makes the werewolves of the new world spirit police, keeping them in the spirit world and the humans out. The werewolf itself is neither a spirit nor mortal, doesn't fit well into either world, and most spirits hate (Loathe and want to destroy really) the werewolves. You also have other werewolves known as the Pure hunting you down to kill you, because supposedly you did them wrong. And that is all that the base book gives you. In order to fill the world in more, you have to buy more USD$30 books. I just haven't had the money nor the drive to get them. *shrug* maybe when I do, my mind on Forsaken will change.

Right now, I am all a shiny with Mage. :>

Your situation pretty much describes my situation with (Changeling), I have to run it for my group to want anything to do with it. I would just like to play. Anybody have any expierience with (Dark Ages Fae)?

What is it with lone Changeling fans? I've run into the same problem. Usually I only get to play Changeling if I'm the one running it, and usually only in the form of one-shots (both tabletop and LARP). There was an occasional summer day-long LARP a few years ago here in Boston, but I've been out of the loop as far as that goes for a few years. I hear the Camarilla group has had some good games here and there, but since I'm not involved with them I'm light on the details...

Both Changeling and Wraith are tricky games to pull off, because you either get the idea of them or you don't. A lot of gamers I met simply did not grok the idea behind Changeling and dismissed it. The Changeling fans I do meet tend to be fans of modern fantasy stories and old folklore and fairytales.

I think you're right about that with Changeling and Wraith. Reading a lot of Charles De Lint is probably one of the reasons I think Changeling would be great. One of the good things about the people I game with is that there are about 15 or so people 'around' who play or have played, so that extended social network means depending on what's running and who is free, you can end up with quite different games. Some of the players would 'get' Changeling, others will just never be interested.

Hmm, maybe next year I'll try and get nWoD happening...

Alright, so those of us who are here and saying we don't get to play Changeling because or locals aren't up for it, is there a way to get an online game going? I'd thought about trying through a blog, livejournal, or MySpace (rofl, make a new profile purely for your character). But there's always the issue of real-time conflict resolution, dice rolls, etc. I'm also not very keen on paying a fee for an online service, unless it was pretty cheap and one-time only. So, if my ideas are not too out-there or overly restrictive, who's up for a go at it?

If you have a way to make it feasible, i'm in.

Any others?
And any organizational suggestions?

This forum seems to have gone silent. Any OWOD players still out there? I play OWOD on-line and am looking for new groups.
