What is Manga?

Japanese comic books. Manwha is the term for Korean comic books (if you happen to come across that one, as well).

Manga have a much broader audience than comic books do here--there are manga for girls, boys, adult men, adult women, and everyone else.

*laugh* Well, there's a lot of manga these days that are blurring the lines between the demographics. There's also stuff like BL (boys love) that is intended for one specific demographic, but doesn't quite fit in the general shoujo (for girls) category to most Western eyes.

Yes, I think there should be a separate demographic catagory for us slightly immature adults who'll read just about any kind of manga. Unless I'm the only one, which is sometimes how I feel *sigh*

You shouldn't feel that way at all...I'm the same way. I read lots of manga, my friends are always shocked when I come in with a book without pictures. They call them "Big Kid Books."

Thanks :-) My family and co-workers just kind of roll their eyes at me.
