I can't believe the year is already half over!

Let us know your reading plans for July.

I plan on reading one ABC book and two books from the TBR list in July. Hopefully I will get to more TBR books but I have some library books coming off holds that I will want to read this month too.

I'd like to finish an audiobook. I have several started

>3 Amaryllys: I love audiobooks too and have a couple on the go at the moment. However, for July, I'd better get back to my ABC print books. I hope to finish at least one of those for the month!

I've finished Scythe and the month isn't over yet. I will add another (reading-related-ish) goal - continue with my ban on participating in tags/sweeps

July is nearly over and I'm nearing my targets.
61 of 75 books read (all books)
31 of 40 off MTBR
11 of 12 off the 1001-list

The challenge I could do better at, is the list of oldies. I've 'only' read 10 out of the 42 oldest I listed. Must add in my defence, that I've started reading two (Kertész & Kurov) and all oldies have moved bookcase and can now be found downstairs. This way they are at hand to take when I need to pick a new book.

All in all I'm quite happy thus far.

I met my July goals but I have gotten bogged down in reading Gnomon which is over 600 pages long and is a pretty complicated story to boot. It's due back at the library by the end of this week and I don't think I'm going to get it finished in time. So the question is should I just stop reading now and move on to some other books that will be quicker to read or should I press on and hope that somehow I will get it finished? Any opinions.

>5 Amaryllys: I admire your strength in sticking with that ban! :)

>6 BoekenTrol71: Well done! I'm having trouble with my oldies too.

>7 gypsysmom: I feel for you, as I often find myself in a similar predicament. When I have a long complicated book due back at the library soon, I find the pressure of reading it quickly makes it less enjoyable. So I tend to find a good place to stop and then wait until I can get it again. The downside is that sometimes it's a long wait and I forget most of what I'd read earlier.

July was a bust for me, though I did manage to finish my current roundabout book today. I finished a few non-BookCrossing books, but not as many as I usually get through in a month. One reason is that we had a lot of social activity, visits from family and friends as well as short trips out of town. So it was all enjoyable, if not conducive to reading. The other reason is that one of my books was Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson, a 1200+ page monster that took me most of the month to get through.

>9 mathgirl40: Seems like we both chose monsters for July. The good news for me is that I think I am going to finish Gnomon before it is due back tomorrow. The final 200 pages seemed to go faster and I wasn't particularly reading quickly. I'll be glad when I can get it back to the library and get back to some regular sized books.
