I just finished Time Regained to complete my first reading of In Search of Lost Time. It took me a while since I interspersed other books in between the six volumes of my edition of Proust. Overall it was a great read but I have to contemplate it for a while before I would even attempt a detailed review. I'm tempted to see if I could blow off enough of the twenty years of dust that has settled on my three years of french language studies to attempt to read a bit in the original. I'll leave that for another day at this point and just enjoy Time Well Spent.

My wife and I have less than a hundred pages to go (we've been reading it in nightly installments since late 2006), and we find ourselves intensely disliking the self-absorbed, caddish narrator. Did you have that reaction?
