I've already started a Mt. TBR Reading challenge at this thread.

My stated goal is to read 38 books - preferably once I've had on the shelf for 5+ years.
Most of these have not been registered at BookCrossing. I just returned to BC a few months ago after a several year hiatus.

My other goals would be to release all BookCrossing titles I have that were registered by someone else. When I disappeared from BC years ago I stalled a couple of bookboxes that I still have! And I have several books from other years-old bookboxes on my shelves - many of the books unread. I want them all gone this year!

I am also hosting 3 Release Challenges at Bookcrossing this year, so I'll keep track of those here as well. I won't track all my BC releases here because it's a lot of work and will get a bit redundant, but the books that I actually want to read before releasing, I will try to track here.

I am also doing a LT reading challenge this year, and the first several books I will be reading this year are actually ones that I need to read so that I can send them out in BC bookboxes in the next week or two.

Here are some of my MT. TBRs (mostly unregistered and +5 yrs old) that I've been organizing.

For Reference:
  • Reduce Mt. TBR
  • Purge previously registered books - especially those registered by other members.
  • Read more books by black authors (and release for my February BC Release Challenge).
  • Read more books that empower women (and release for my March BC Release Challenge).
  • Read more books by LGBT authors or with queer characters/themes (and release for my June BC Release Challenge).
  • Read more diverse books in general - even if not released for a particular challenge.
  • Release books in 52 different cities - and try to theme those books to the releases.

1. Bitch Factor by Chris Rogers

I've had this on Mt. TBR for years, but never registered it on BC before.

Read 75 Books in 2019 Challenge
This is a LibraryThing Challenge, but if I release any of the "75 Books" for other BookCrossing challenges, I'll keep track of those here.

Good luck with your various challenges. I look forward to following your progress!

So, I haven't been doing so well with these.

I traveled to France for 2.5 weeks, so I read some books with French themes to release there. Good, but that means that I slacked on my LGBTQ release reads.

I did re-read When Love Comes to Town by Tom Lennon. I love this book and kind of want to keep it, but I've read it twice now and I should let it go.
I hope to read Bingo by Rita Mae Brown and get that old TBR out of my house. Kill two birds with one stone.

I made some headway on the 52 Towns in 52 Weeks and themed release challenges.

These were my releases:

Murder Below Montparnasse by Cara Black
Murder in Pigalle by Cara Black
The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George
Julien Parme by Florian Zeller
Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
A Paris Affair by Tatiana de Rosnay
Jumping the Picket Fence by Lydia Dean

I only read the first three (and a half) from the photos, but I enjoyed them and I enjoyed releasing these titles in France.

I hope you enjoyed your time in France -- wonderful that you were able to release so many books there!

Thanks! It was enjoyable. And also a little stressful. lol.
And when I got home I discovered five more books set in France that I intended to release there. oops! I'll have to pack fewer clothes and more books next time. ;-)

>11 originalslicey: That happens to me too -- I realize while on vacation or on a business trip that I packed more clothes than I needed but not enough books. :)

Just took another short trip to the Northeast and intented to release some New England-based books in that setting. Once again, I was not too successful. ;-) My problem is that I actually wanted to read the books before releasing them, so some of the books set in New England that I brought with me actually came home with me, too.

For the 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge I was able to release:

Wife For Hire by Janet Evanovich
Einstein's Beach House by Jacob M. Appel
Shopgirl by Steve Martin
Made For You by Melissa Marr
Love in Maine by Connie Falconeri

The books that I didn't get to release, though I planned on it were:

>13 originalslicey: I too have a hard time releasing any books that's I've not read yet. I even have a hard time releasing books that I'd read a long time ago, thinking that I should reread them first. That's why I always do terribly at release challenges.
