I hope to read at least one of my ABC books this month and get a couple more off my shelf finished and registered. I've been much distracted by the Tournament of Books shortlist, though, so I'm not sure how well I'll stick with my February goals.

I am going to aim for three books, one ABC, one of the oldest books registered by me and one other TBD.

February targets
My crazy target is 12 1001 books to reach 800 read by the end of the month. I am going to try to read 6 from this list here.

I have a crazy goal for February. I want to do a "sweeplette" for the TIOLI challenges. That will entail completing one book for each of the categories on this page:

I already finished one excellent book (Bella by local author Steve Piacente...

and am in progress with two other books. I think the main thing is for me to pick books I *really* like so I'll sail through them. In the history of the TIOLI challenges (since January, 2010), I have only ever completed one other sweeplette. Wish me luck!
Looking forward to seeing how others reach their goals this month!
For the month of February, I will be attending another BCinDC meetup, this time in Alexandria, Virginia, USA. Our February meetup is always a memorial meetup to remember Becky Johns, the daughter of ResQGeek who died at age 9 when hit by a car when out riding her bicycle. Feel free to join the BookCrossing release challenge for her this month. Here's the link:

So I guess another BC goal for me for February will be to see how many books I can release in memory of Becky...whom I did know as she used to attend BC meetups with her dad.

>3 gypsysmom: It always feels good to get those oldest books off the shelves. I recently finished Waiting for Godot, which had been sitting on my shelves for 34 years. I'm planning to keep it unregistered, so I didn't include it in my challenge stats.
>4 soffitta1: Good luck with that ambitious goal!
>5 SqueakyChu: It's great that you're all keeping the memory of Becky alive with BC activities.

Even though it is not the end of February yet I'm pretty sure I'm not going to reach my goal. I did read one ABC book Missing Justice and I did read one other book from the TBR pile The Diviners but I've picked up a library book that is the February book over on the 1001 Books group and I suspect that will keep me going for most of the rest of the month. I'll try to do better next month.

I loved The Diviners - what a find!

I’m not going to reach my goal for February because I started and stopped too many books. That’s okay. I would rather only finish reading books which thoroughly interest me.
I never made it to this month’s BC meetup, but I’ve been releasing a book or two each day this month in memory of. Becky Johns. So far I’m up to release #36.

>7 SqueakyChu: I hate to admit it, but I actually have a couple that are even older.
>8 gypsysmom: >9 soffitta1: I loved The Diviners too, when I'd first read it about 30 years ago. I recently took home a copy I found in a Little Library to reread.
I finished one book from my shelves to register and release: Murder on Safari by Elspeth Huxley. I just started an ABC book, Well Schooled in Murder by Elizabeth George, so maybe there's time to redeem myself before the end of the month.

>9 soffitta1: and >11 mathgirl40: I'm pretty sure I got a lot more out of The Diviners this time around than I did when I first read it. I recommend you try it soon mathgirl40.

Just finished my last book of the month - that makes 12 in total from my TBR pile in February. I also read 14 1001 books (one was a re-read for book group) bringing my total up to 802 books read from the combined list! Roll on March!

>12 gypsysmom: Last year, I'd reread The Stone Angel and felt the same way -- that I got much more out of it this time around. Perhaps it was because that book is about an older woman so I can relate better than I did 30 years ago. :)
>13 soffitta1: That sounds like a terrific February you had!
