It's almost December. Tell us about your goals and progress for the month, as well your reflections on your year's reading as we approach the end of the year.

I'd like to finish Момент истины. After that I'd like to start another war-related book, either memoir or fiction. I might try to tackle The Caine Mutiny by Herman Wouk which I have as an audiobook

Well, having had a slow reading month in November, I am hoping that holidays will help me get 5 read. I'd also like to read 5 1001 books. My final goal for this month is to close out the year having read more books by women than by men. This has been hard with my 1001 reading as the list is heavily dominated by male authors.

I would also like to finish a book in German. I have several started (Das Paket by Sebastian Fitzek, Kind aller Lander by Irmgard Keun, Silber 3 by Kerstin Gier... I also have Jugend ohne Gott by Ödön von Horváth as an audiobook

I want to finish four books completely this month as I have a habit of starting one book only to stop in the middle to read a second books which I stop in the middle to read...well, you know the drill.
So far I finished one book this week, a book I borrowed from the library called Volume Control which was all the newest research and information about devices for the deaf/Deaf/hearing impaired. As I wear hearing aids, this was of great interest to me. Check out my review on the book's page.
I'm back to a BookCrossing book which is good so that one has promise as far as finishing it. It's called You by Caroline Kepness and is sort of a stalker book. My husband started it but couldn't read it because he said it was too creepy. I like creepy books! :D
My December goal: 4 completed books.

I would like to finish 3 of the 4 ABC books from 2018 that I have left and I would like to finish the one book that I registered in 2009. Wish me luck.

>9 SqueakyChu: I am so close to my December goal already. I read three books and have one more to go. Fortunately, my Early Reviewer children’s book arrived yesterday so that one counted as one of my three. :D

That Caroline Kepnes book was so freaky, but great!

It looks like some of you are making good progress in December so far! Best of luck for achieving your December goals.
One of my 2019 goals was to read, register and release 30 books from my shelves. I'm still far from reaching that goal. However, my other goal was to read all my ABC books from 2018 and earlier, and I've just started the final one!

The books I read were *so* good that I just raced through them. It was delightful to have such great reading so far this month.

>14 Amaryllys: Congratulations on finishing your 50th SIY book!
I am very happy to have reached one of my goals, which was to finish 10 of my ABC books received before 2019! I finished Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh a few days ago, and that had been sitting on my shelves for a while.
My other goal was to read, register and release 30 books from my shelves. At this point, it looks like I'll end up with 20. Oh well, better luck next year!

Well at least I met my December goal by finishing An Apothecary Rose Hard Truth Far-Seer all from other BookCrossers and Summerland which I registered in May 2009. I faliled at most of my yearly goals but I will try better in 2020.

>16 gypsysmom: No need to worry about your 2019 goals anymore. 2020 is a new year! :)
I ended up finishing one more ABC book before Dec. 31, Death of a Glutton by M. C. Beaton, so I'm very happy with reducing my ABC stack this year.
