I LOVED Their Eyes Were Watching God but haven't since read anything else by Zora Neale Hurston so I'll second her.

Also, I'll third Colson Whitehead as I've heard a ton of praise for his works.

And, my face-to-face book club is going to be reading Barbara Pym soon; looks like she has some interesting titles so I'll nominate her here as well.
