Hello friends! I feel like I have not been here in a long time. I have been reading though. What are everyone's goals or reading plans for 2020? Thought I'd start a thread for January to visit about what we have been reading, what we hope to read etc.

Me - I read 150 books last year which is a high for me. There were a lot of romance books. I went through a few binges where I read all military romance for a while. I also read a group of epostilary (sp) books. Ones written in correspondence form. I read probably more contemporary romance than any other type. I discovered a few new authors that I like - Jamie Bennett, Kayley Wood, Natasha Boyd, Julien Bradley, Amy Matayo, and Emma Scott, Tess Thompson, and Kate Stewart.

I set my goal at 75 books for next year. If I go over, I'll set an updated goal. Another goal is also to go through my physical books and weed out some that I'm not going to read ever again and also to prioritize what I have yet to read, series I need to finish etc. I read so many more e-books now and I want to get my physical book collection all out on my visible shelves. I also want to improve my reviews.

I finished my first books for 2020 - Heartbreak Warfare by Heather Orgeron and Kate Stewart.

I'll check back here sooner to see who is here.

I'm setting the bar low this year - 20 books in 2020.

My son and his family finally moved out of my house, so I don't have a toddler or infant to attend to, but I am in a reading slump. Sigh. I'm planning on finishing my current read and then go for an old favorite. That usually helps.

I did go through my front hall closet where most of my boxes of TBRs lived. I cleared out four boxes - yea! Now I need to find anothet home for the six boxes I'm keeping.

Hello and Happy New Year! I don't have a set goal for 2020 and didn't really keep track of how many I read last year. For romances at the end of 2019 I did do a re-read of Lisa Kleypas' Wallflower books and read all but the last of her Hathaway series. Originally (a few years back) I had taken out the last Hathaway story, Love in the Afternoon, out from the library. I deliberated a while and decided to order a copy of my own from my local book store. I figure if I've re-read it once I'll probably eventually re-read it again so it will be worth having the complete set.

Since the beginning of 2020 I've been basically reading young adult stories, but they do have an aspect of romance. I read the Circus Hearts trilogy (downloaded on my kindle) and re-read the Every Breath trilogy by Ellie Marney, an Australian author. I like her writing very much. I actually originally got Every Breath from Early Reviewers here on LT and then went on and purchased the other stories of the trilogy.

The Prince of Souls by Lynn Kurland
It's the latest installment and #12 in her 9 Kingdoms series--it released in Dec. 2019. It continues events started in The Dreamer's Song (2017). It's good to see a new 9 Kingdoms novel from Ms. Kurland!

Wouldn't really call this a romance, but it isn't exactly literary fiction, either. Chick-lit? (Although I hate that term . . . )

When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger
340 pages - ★ ★ ★

The third title in Weisberger's Devil Wears Prada series, this one focuses on Emily Charlton, now an image consultant in LA who is losing business to a new start-up. She goes to the Connecticut suburbs to see her friend Miriam, who left her high-powered law firm to stay home with her kids. Reaching out to both Miriam and Emily is Karolina, a supermodel wife of a politician. He's had Karolina arrested for a DUI so he can leave her and make her look like the evil one. None of these three is cut out for life in Greenwich - especially Emily.

Not a bad story at all. A bit predictable. The best part - seeing Miranda Priestly again!

Nice to "see" you all. Glad some of you are still here. I'm a little slow in reading this month I've read 9 books and may get one more in. I finally read The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. It was cute. I don't know why it took me so long to read it. I also read two books by Katherine Center - How to Walk Away and Things you Save in a Fire. I loved both of those. Now I want to read her other back list books. I can't believe it is almost February already. The older I get the faster the time flies. Sigh.
Will check in again soon.
Melanie
