Languages in Author Common Knowledge

I think author common knowledge should have a box for what languages the author wrote in. It's an objective proxy for community in some ways; an Finn writing in Estonian or Swedish, or German writing in Yiddish, or American writing in Spanish. It also makes it easier for users to recognized whether a work they have is translated (possibly with an anonymous translator), and what the original language of the work is likely to be.

What do you do about authors who write, or have written, in multiple languages?

For instance, Jhumpa Lahiri has written some of her books in English, and some in Italian.

They could just look at the work page, which has a field for "original language", as well as "original title". (Of course, these need to be filled in, but a box also needs to be checked.)

It's a box for which languages the author wrote it, not which language. One of things I was interested in was Tagore; it'd be nice to have it noted if he wrote in any languages besides English or Bengali.

I added 50 great ghost stories, and felt that adding English to several author pages (since all 50 stories were written in English for the anthology) might at least add some context, even if I couldn't properly add national origin to them.

In a lot of cases, a work page may not be filled out, and it's not at all helpful in cases where the anthology or magazine has work with multiple original languages.
