As a lady of fortune of the MOST discernin' tastes, I am most fond of romances involving those most dashing of adventurers - the pirate! So any recommendations involving high romance on the high seas (only with sufficient swashbuckling, please) should be posted here!

I (fairly) recently read one called Lady Pirate byLynsay Sands, which was highly amusing. The lady in question has been raised aboard a pirate vessel since she was very young, but finds herself in the predicament of having to marry. Attempting to conform to society's standards on her part (and that of her crew) produces some utterly hilarious results (including the use of cake batter as makeup). There wasn't quite enough swashbuckling aboard ship for my taste, but this one was definitely worth the read. Very funny.

Another romance (though not quite piratical, there was definite swashbuckling) that I very much enjoyed was An Improper Proposal by Patricia Cabot. Payton is a nautical-minded tomboy who wants nothing more than her own clipper ship - and Captain Connor Drake (isn't THAT a good name?). When both are taken by others, Payton swings aboard ship to confront battle and pirates to save the things she loves above all else. I read this one a while back as well, but thorougly enjoyed it.

Anybody else have suggestions?

I'm afraid that I haven't read any, but I'd also be open to recommendations!
