Regency, mid 70’s, heroine ostracized at ball

gen. 22, 8:00pm

Hi I’m new to this set, and hopefully someone will be able to assist. Looking for a regency novel published around the 70’s or 80’s. Heroine is going to be ostracized at A ball. The hero goes to estranged father/grandfather’s house and asks for help. Hero introduces father/grandfather who is a high ranking member of society to the heroine at the ball to ensure her acceptance at the ton. Favorite authors at the time were Laurie McBain, Julie Garwood, Kathleen Woodwiss, Jude Deveraux, Judith McNaught. Please and thank you

I might be way off but maybe Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught?
