Fantasy series that feature women who are transported from modern times to a magical medieval world with flying horses. The first book focuses on a woman (maybe named Alex) who was either a lawyer or judge who is transported into the magical world and has a little bit of a hard time communicating because the magical world's language is more like old english. The woman finds she can do magic and actually fixes a flaw in the main male characters magic. After learning more about the world and helping to repair a magical wall separating the land from evil she is given a choice to stay or go back to her old world in a moment known as the snap (I think). The snap is different for each person but for her she tastes either her favorite tea or coffee. She decides to stay in the new world. Later books focus on not just her but other women who come to the magical world. One has to go back and bring back horses to bred with the dying out pegasus. Also that woman brings back potatoes because all the women miss eating french fries and there are no potatoes in the new world. I read this series in either the 90s or 2000s but I can't remember the title or author.
