Lisa's 2021 Where did the year go? Mini-challenge

Well, I'm here! I stopped reading for a variety of reasons around last August; basically reading was not helping to distract me from real life and I couldn't focus on what I was reading.

I have read a couple of books earlier this year, and just finished two big ones in a row, so I think I will make a push to read a bit more this year, and track it here.

My categories are simple, not even categories really, but just a place to keep track:

Books read January - August
September
October
November
December

It's nice to be here again!

OK - completely lame, but coming back here to post what I read...

1. Shade: A Tale of Two Presidents 291 pages; great book but bittersweet...
2. The Stand: The Complete and Uncut Edition 1153 pages; thought it was safe for a re-read, once I got vaccinated... I've read this book more times than any other book in my library and I feel like I have a new insight each time...
3. Knife of Dreams 783 pages - on the way to finishing the Wheel of Time, finally!
4. The Gathering Storm 783 pages - wait, holy cow, these two books have the exact same number of pages (a lot!)!
5. Towers of Midnight 861 pages
6. A Memory of Light 909 pages - woohoo! finished!
7. The Nightingale 570 pages - I was a bit annoyed by this book in the beginning (found the main character to be irritating), then it got better, but her maturity wasn't that believable.
8. Dead in the Family 327 pages - another series I'm trying to finish up!
9. Reuben Sachs 151 pages - really impact little Persephone novel by Amy Levy.

Only 9 books read, worst year since I've been actively tracking my reading. On the plus side, average book length was 648 pages.

Given I'm only just posting this in mid-June 2022, I probably am not going to have a great 2022 either, as far as reading goes. We'll see if I can do better - shouldn't take that much!
