Hello everyone, I am looking for what I think is a book regrouping many stories of oriental style, all fiction.
The only story I remember is that of a princess who because of a curse I think has to chase the flies of a prince's cadaver in a palace for 3 years, or it might have been 3 years, 3 months, 3 days and 3 hours. On the last day when 3 hours remain of the 3 years she gets tired, so when she sees a woman and her daughter pass by the palace she is in, she buys the woman's daughter and tell her to keep chasing the flies of the body. The princess goes to rest in a corner of the room.
The prince wakes up, he thanks for for all her hard work and asks who is that woman sleeping there. The girl says it is a lazy servant she got in to help her who is not doing any work at all and that she should be emprisonned. So she is emprisonned, the prince later undertood that she was the real princess but I do not remember why.
The story I read was photocopied from a book, I read it in French for French literature class 20 yeads ago. I never saw the book cover. I guess it could be part of the 1001 nights story or an Indian or Farsi group of stories, but I am not sure of even the title of this specific story.
