As you probably know, LT has a series feature. For Agatha Christie we have the Hercule Poirot series and the Miss Marple series. In my series list (see 'stats' in your profile) there is also a Superintendent Battle and a Harley Quin series. I don't think the last two are series as Christie meant, but rather series a publisher placed them in?

Well I added Harley Quin because he is a recurring character and I have only done the ones I specifically remember having him in.

Aha, that makes sense. I haven't read those books yet, so I didn't knew it was a recurring character. Thanks for explaining, then there is no work needed on that one.

I haven't put any in for Superintendent Battle myself (at least I don't remember doing so) but he is also another recurring character, though I don't think he works as well because most of the stories with him he is not the main sleuth. I think he generally shows up with Poirot. If someone wants to correct me on that I won't mind, I am not an expert by any means on Christie.

There is a CK field for characters, all of which are links to all works with that character entered. This is probably the best place for Battle to go, and maybe Quin also?

I support the Quin books as a series because the stories revolve around him as a character.
With Battle - he is a supporting character who features in some Poirot novels and in also non-Poirot ones. I can understand why someone would want to showcase this linkage via series, as there's more visual functionality. However I support leaving books in the less visual CK character linkage.
I've got quite a few Christies in my catalogue so feel I can comment on this one.

Well I have 39, Christies, and I tend to agree with you ryn_books, I just didn't want to be making a unilateral decision here. And you said it better than I did.

Fair enough, I've only read the Miss Marples and a couple of other odd ones. If they are central characters in their right then they deserve the series linkage.

If they are more like Dolly Bantry - important but only as a companion to Miss Marple, then the character field (which is less well used/known compared to the series) is more appropriate.
