can we please move the star group up to the top again?

It was so much easier before to click on to star a group. Its all the way on the bottom and I often forget and a group I liked disappears. Can we move it back to the top pls?

Just to clarify, do you mean group or post? Also, this is when the screen is relatively small -- like on a phone or tablet, right?

This depends on the size of your screen. At certain sizes we can't have a side navigation on the right side of the screen, so we move it to the bottom of the content. Unfortunately, our "action area" that has the main actions for the page is part of the right-side content. I'm working on splitting that out and letting it float to the top of small pages instead of the bottom.

I can't give a deadline on that, but it's on my list.

>3 conceptDawg: Why not put in in the panel with the number of messages, participants and “jump to bottom” link? It wraps up nicely on a small screen and it won’t add a line even on a phone screen.

>2 lesmel: I mean a group (including this one that I had not starred) Im using a laptop so this shouldn't be a problem. And i agree with Annie Mod, just put it on top with all the other messages. Perhaps keep the ignore button on the bottom so people don't mix them up. >3 conceptDawg: thanks!

You are within a talk post itself, not a group, but I know what you meant. :)
We aren't going to add it to the "scoreboard" because that's display information and I want a generalized way to show the "action area" (the top of the right-sidebar, if needed on a page) across all pages on LT. That's one of the things we're doing in the redesign is standardizing all of the display across all pages. I have a solution but just haven't had the chance to apply it to talk posts yet.

>5 cindydavid4: You can't star groups. You can join groups, you can watch groups, but you can't star groups.
You can star threads. This is a thread, not a group.

Ok every site Ive been on seems to have different meanings to thread, group post. One place called posts what you would call threads, and threads where what you call groups. It can be confusion. Ok so yeah, I want to star threads, and you are right, you join a group thanks for the clarification!

>6 conceptDawg: But you already have an "action" there - the "Jump to first unread" link. :) I don't mind you saying you do not want to add it there - but let's not claim that it is because we do not want to have actions there.

>9 AnnieMod: Certainly we have special circumstances, but I fight like hell in meetings to have standardization across every element of the site. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.
And we also have to weigh the totality of changes during any single update....we can't change too much at one time or people lose their collective minds. ;)

>10 conceptDawg: Oh come on, you had been around long enough - we are fully capable of losing our collective minds when you move a single comma somewhere ;)

More seriously - sure, I understand. I still think that would be the perfect place for it but I am not the one designing it so good luck!

I think if you are sure to announce the change you'll find many people happy about it. Just sayin

I demand a toggle so I don't have to experience this site change, or I will depart this web site POST HASTE!

>13 Stevil2001: Funny, there are still people using the original LT design from the early 2000s that we phased out in 2013. They are starting to have "have problems with the site."

That option will soon go away.

I feel broad and abstract sympathy for those members, but really, the developers have bent over backwards enough on this. I'm looking forward to LT 2.0.

Do you know how many die-hard salmoners (or perhaps "anti-chocolatians") are out there?

I like anti chocolate people, means more for me!

On my phone there's a star you can click right next to the message in the list of messages on the Talk page and I presume the Group page as well. Isn't that good enough?

that would be great, but on my lap top it is below the post message box; easy to forget about
