Didn’t make it by a ways last year! Too many health reasons. Determined to get back on track this year. Have a line up of books to go.

3. The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict.

Belle de Costa Greene was a black woman who lived her life as a white woman, amongst New York society. She became the personal librarian of J. P. Morgan, and curated his collection of rare manuscripts and books and artwork. She moved among the art dealers who were all men and made deals only men were making.

5. Magical New York Christmas by Anita Hughes. Audiobook

6. The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland by Jim Defede.
Audiobook

This was really interesting. On 9/11 U.S. airspace closed for several days, all planes flying across the ocean between Europe and the U. S. We’re diverted to Gander, Newfoundland. Almost 7000 passengers were stuck on board for almost 24 hours before de-boarding. The book details the generosity of the small town and those around it as they hosted these people.

Audiobooks save me on my one hour commute to my teaching job every day. I wish I was sitting in a bus or train so I could read a book but I would go nuts in traffic without the books.

7. Vanderbilt by Anderson Cooper.

Slow reading story about the history of the Vanderbilt family. I thought more of it would be about his mother Gloria Vanderbilt, but a lot of it was about his other ancestors. What a dysfunctional family from the beginning.
