Accented letters deleted in LOC records searched from ISBN

I have noticed that when I add a book from the Library of Congress and search for it using its ISBN, accented letters, such as ó, are deleted from the title and author field (and possibly others), along with whatever character follows them. Strangely, however, when I search for Racism on Trial by Ian Haney-López using its ISBN (9780674010680), the author's last name appears as Haney Lez in my imported record. When I search for the book by its title, it appears correctly as Haney-López.
