Collector's Notes for Masterpieces of Science Fiction

I have obtained several books in the "Masterpieces of Science Fiction" series which lack the Collector's Notes:

1984
FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON
GATEWAY
MORE THAN HUMAN
SLAN
THE FOREVER WAR
TIMESCAPE
WAY STATION

Does anyone have the Collector's Notes of any of these books that they would be willing to send me a scan or photo of?
Thanks!

Most likely, yes, but they’re still all in boxes. It’ll be a few weeks still before I’ll have them unpacked.

>4 Glokta101: or anyone, can you tell me if you can access the PDF file in there?

Well, I believe I posted a link to a Google Drive with a PDF document for Flowers for Algernon. However, my post disappeared. So I either did not send it or it was deleted (possibly links are not allowed here). In any case, you can drop me a line if you want the PDF documents. I will do a few a day.

>1 Glokta101:

Well, i found the PDF for Flower for Algernon, but the flyers were not in my copy of 1984, Gateway, More than Human, or Slan. I will look at the others as well though. I know I collected these direct from EP, as they threw in the occasionaly signed edition for no extra cost. Both Gateway and Slan are signed by the authors (Pohl and van Vogt). I definitely recall looking forward to each arrival hoping.

So either I filed the flyers in a cabinet or they did not have flyers. I would *not* have thrown them out. So I'll have to to through my cabinets.

I have the notes for
1984
GATEWAY
MORE THAN HUMAN
SLAN
THE FOREVER WAR
TIMESCAPE
WAY STATION

But not
FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON

>11 sdawson: let me know if you don’t have these. If you don’t, I can scan and post. Having PDFs of these available to download on a shared Google Drive or folder is a great idea. I have often needed to ask for these from LT friends when I acquire a used EP volume
that lacks the notes from EP.

Ok, I have created a Google Sheet that has all of the volumes in the MoSF series that I know of.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mwKjBzSNtKYSgWw2ImAFgfuIKkd64vAVJp0lN5sH...

I am fairly certain that it is complete. Let me know if it is not. I have linked PDFs of the Collector's Notes that I have readily on hand. If anyone else wants to link theirs, let me know and I can grant you editing rights to the Google Sheet so that you can link yours. >11 sdawson: let me know if you want to be an editor so that you can add the PDFs that you have on hand.

And if anyone wants to edit this Google Sheet further by adding other tidbits of information, again, let me know and I can add you as an editor to the spreadsheet.

This would probably look better as a webpage using Google Sites, but I thought setting it up as a spreadsheet was easier to keep things organized.

You are missing a few titles. Check the DB to determine which ones.

>14 Wootle: your right! I just noticed that I didn’t include Dandelion Wine. I never think of that one as part of the MoSF series because I picked it up as a special EP release when it was paired with Something Wicked This Way Comes. I’ll go back and check the DB more carefully to see if anything else needs to be added.

(Added later) Hmmm… Dandelion Wine is the only one that I could see that was missing. Anyone else catch one that is missing?

>18 Glokta101: Ok, I have scanned and uploaded the remaining ones you are looking for:
1984
GATEWAY
MORE THAN HUMAN
SLAN
THE FOREVER WAR
TIMESCAPE
WAY STATION

You can download them from the links in the Google Sheet linked in entry 13 above.

Interestingly, I noticed that I was missing 1984 from my Google Sheet so clearly there are still ones that I have overlooked. So please let me know if you see any others missing!

Thank you very much for your help!

I know of a list of MOSF titles with links to covers:

http://www.eastonfranklinbooks.com/easton-press-series/ep-masterpiece-scifi

This list has three additional titles: Martian, Illustrated Man and In a Glass Darkly.

Two of those were published by Easton Press but not as part of their MoSF series. I take Wootle’s list as the definitive answer on which books were published in which EP series. The Martian was published as part of the Signed First Editions of Sci Fi. The Illustrated Man was published in their Greatest Books series (why not in the MoSF, I do not know). In a Glass Darkly I do not see in Wootle’s list. Or am I missing it someplace? I am searching the webpage using ctrl+f.

(added later) Hmmm… clearly In a Glass Darkly is an EP book according to that photo of it at the website. >14 Wootle: do you know?

In A Glass Darkly is part of the 13 volume Horror Classics, it is 1574-004 Photos

I just received a copy of Tarzan of the Apes issued as part of the old MoSF series from Easton. However, it arrived without the Collector's Notes from EP. Can anyone send me a copy of their Collector's Notes for this book? PDF is preferred but I can work with a JPG.
Thanks!

EDIT: I was able to locate a seller on eBay who was able to send me a photo. So all good! Thanks.
