Do you have the same name on here as you do bookcrossing?

I do not have the same name on here. My name here is dreammy and my bookcrossing name is dreammer.

jul. 28, 2008, 11:53 am

I have the same name in both places. The easier to find me! :)

jul. 28, 2008, 12:40 pm

jul. 28, 2008, 4:31 pm

I have the same name EVERYWHERE! Literally, everywhere there's a LyzzyBee on the internet, it's me! Well, there's a toy company, that's not me - but everywhere else!

jul. 28, 2008, 5:05 pm

I used to be silentmiaouw on bookcrossing but I've changed it to over-the-moon (had to include the hyphens) because I was getting confused about who I really am. And overthemoon on flickr.

jul. 28, 2008, 9:24 pm

I'm "freelunch" here and at bookcrossing (and on bookmooch too!)

jul. 28, 2008, 9:35 pm

Yep, Pinklady60 both places.

jul. 28, 2008, 11:44 pm

I'm the same at both! :')

ag. 3, 2008, 4:04 pm

I don't, and I have no idea why. Oh well. I'm "k00kaburra" over at BooKCrossing.

ag. 4, 2008, 4:22 am

Yep, I'm klarusu everywhere (BC, BM, LT) ... it's my alter ego I think!

ag. 7, 2008, 5:35 pm

I am the same here and on BC. Slightly different on flickr and LJ

ag. 8, 2008, 10:36 pm

I go with onyx95 for just about everything, here, bookcrossing, flickr, frugalreader, walkertracker, I think you get the picture.

ag. 9, 2008, 2:13 am

Ooh hello otakuu didn't know you were on here too!

ag. 9, 2008, 11:34 am

otakuu, hello!!

You seem to be everywhere!! ;-)

ag. 21, 2008, 8:17 am

yes I'm Ginpoodle here, there and Etsy.

ag. 22, 2008, 10:09 am

Hello! Ginpoodle!

ag. 22, 2008, 1:34 pm

Indeed I do. I'm melydia most everywhere, actually.

ag. 22, 2008, 4:15 pm

I'm always bigcurlyloz if the name is available. Don't think it hasn't been yet....

ag. 22, 2008, 5:36 pm

hello bigcurlyloz *waves*

Editat: ag. 22, 2008, 8:04 pm

*Waves* to melydia...

Hey! We could start one big wave!!

ag. 23, 2008, 11:25 am

Waving to bigcurlyloz too. And heaven-ali of course!

ag. 24, 2008, 11:21 am

ag. 29, 2008, 10:37 pm

I have been here a while though I have only just started 'joining in'

ag. 29, 2008, 10:39 pm

Wish I was hanging out with the BC'ers in DC in RL instead of only in the ether.

Blows you kisses

ag. 29, 2008, 10:39 pm

Waves to melydia too!!!!!!!!

ag. 29, 2008, 10:40 pm

Hey, LyzzyBee. Good to see you here too

Editat: ag. 29, 2008, 11:26 pm

Hi, otakuu!! *waves*

When are you coming back to DC? We need you for the National Book Festival in September!!

ag. 30, 2008, 2:41 am

I would love to come back. If I win the big lottery this weekend..........

How was the day in Baltimore?

ag. 31, 2008, 6:23 pm

I use the same name.

set. 2, 2008, 12:11 pm

I think I do!

set. 2, 2008, 8:13 pm

--> 30

It was really fun - as always. I took some pictures, but I never got around to posting them. I'll try to do it eventually. :)

I got a catch this week from a book I donated to The Book Thing the day I was there. That book is being taken to Canada!.

set. 5, 2008, 4:21 am

Hey there. First post here on this group. I only recently started exploring LT beyond the library part. :p

I'm Xeyra here and practically everywhere else, including Bookcrossing. It's my token name online.

set. 5, 2008, 10:54 am

--> 34

OMG! Have you got an interesting book world to discover here!!

A hearty welcome to Librarything.

oct. 7, 2008, 9:31 am

I tend to be the same whereever I go too....easy and simple to remember

gen. 10, 2009, 10:55 pm

20:I'm always bigcurlyloz if the name is available. Don't think it hasn't been yet....

Yep, and when SKingList isn't, it usually means I signed up for the site in the past and had forgotten.

març 16, 2009, 10:37 am

Yes! I just joined LT and I have the same name on BookCrossing.

Editat: març 16, 2009, 10:52 am

Welcome to LT, ladybug74. LibraryThing goes great with BookCrossing! Be sure to check out the Early Reviewers and Member Giveaways programs here at LT. I just love them!

I saw that you have a bookring going for Duma Key. My husband and I just loved that book. I'm glad King is back at his good writing. I think that's become my favorite book of his so far. It has now beat out Hearts in Atlantis which was the one I loved the best before he wrote Duma Key.

març 22, 2009, 12:07 pm

I've just joined LT too (about two minutes ago--of course the first thing I did was look for the Bookcrossers!). I am jumpingin in both places.

març 22, 2009, 2:07 pm

I liked Duma Key the best of the books that King has written recently, but my all time favorites will probably always be It and The Stand. Those are 2 of my favorite all time books!

I was led here by a journal entry from a fellow bookcrosser and I also headed straight for the bookcrossing discussions. Now I have one more book website to be addicted to!

març 22, 2009, 10:42 pm

--> 41 and 42

Welcome to LibraryThing. It's great to have more Bookcrossers on board!

--> 41

Now I have one more book website to be addicted to!

Is this ever an understatement. I'm an avid Bookcrosser on line and in real life, but I am now totally and hopelessly hooked on LibraryThing.

abr. 18, 2009, 3:48 pm

Yep, here, there, and virtually everywhere else on the web.

maig 10, 2009, 5:23 pm

maig 12, 2009, 5:34 pm

No. On bookcrossing, I'm waternixie. Can anybody guess what author's books both names come from?

jul. 5, 2009, 8:20 pm

I'm under the same name there.
*waves to all the for-now-strangers*
I've only recently found out about BC, through the Ozzie group here on LT. Haven't done anything yet. Currently plucking up courage to go the local meet-up...
*shies away*

jul. 5, 2009, 9:51 pm

Hi Ritulia,

It's nice to meet a BookCrosser who also is a member of LibraryThing. Both are my very serious addictions. :)

BookCrossers are truly fun people. I am actually the person who started seeking out other Bookcrossers in real life a few years ago when I was asked to man a Bookcrossing table at a community book fair. I did so myself by giving away 25 regeistered books. The next year, I asked for help and two other local Bookcrossers (creativeMGE and crrcookie) came out to meet me and help me. The following year, we had an active group, so active, in fact, that all of us gave away over 1,000 registered books for that same book fair. As it turned out, we have become now a real group (BC in DC) with monthly meetings and have won the bid to host a BookCrossing international convention!!

Bottom line. Don't be shy. Bookcrossers are very friendly and fun people.

jul. 6, 2009, 4:47 am

Hi Ritulia. SqueakyChu's opinion of bookcrossers matches mine. The group meet in Ipswich is friendly and fun.

And, to keep this on topic: my BC handle is the same as this one.

jul. 6, 2009, 9:20 am

Yup - we're all friendly and lovely and love to get new members at our meetups! You could maybe see if they have a yahoo or meetup group where you can say a shy hello and get to "know" a few names first. WOrth posting in the forums to ask if there is. For example, we have one for Birmingham Bookcrossers, and in our polls to find out who's going to the meetup each month, we have a category for "I'm going, but it's my first time and I'm a bit nervous", so we can make sure that person is looked out for and after.

Good luck!

jul. 6, 2009, 8:41 pm

Yeah, that's what I've done: through a group on LT I've found the OZ BCers yahoo group, and from there - the Melbourne one.
The only problem is that I'm a bit of a sociophobe...
But thanks everyone for kind words. :)

jul. 7, 2009, 4:22 pm

Well I'd just be honest, post about that or get talking to a couple of people about how you feel on the group. We have a couple of agoraphobic people in our group who rely on being able to come out to see a friendly and accepting group of people once a month, and BookCrossing itself and the group have helped me through all sorts of issues - I have to go out cos I owe this person a book, etc! Good luck!

jul. 13, 2009, 11:47 pm

I've been kicking around BC & LT for a couple of years now.
I mainly contribute to the Aus BC group, but I thought I'd say "hi" here.
I'm "FreePages" on BC.

jul. 14, 2009, 12:15 am

I've been on BC for long enough for my BC bookshelf to become enormous! I'm tqd on bookcrossing (and bookmooch, and livejournal) and wookiebender here (and on flickr).

And Ritulia, we are a lovely bunch, just drop by meetup with some books and you'll be welcome with open arms. (And even if you don't bring books, you'll definitely leave with books. ;)

jul. 14, 2009, 8:20 am

I'm on both sites as missylc. I've released several books over the past week or so (my first week on BC). Can't wait to find out what happens to them!

jul. 25, 2009, 2:55 pm

I am Weegie on Bookcrossing. Bertyboy on this site.

jul. 30, 2009, 7:17 am

I keep the same name where ever I go so I don't forget who I am!!

jul. 31, 2009, 7:24 am

LOL, Inver! :') I hear ya!

ag. 1, 2009, 7:01 pm

I'm Rabenaas whereever I am in the www.
Meeting other Bookcrossers in real life with this name is a little uhhm- embarrasing. It's german and means something like "cunning bastard" (its the second name of my cat). When I choosed this name I never imagined me walking in a coffee-shap, telling a bunch of stragers "Hi, i'm Rabenaas"

ag. 2, 2009, 10:47 am

Your name, Rabenaas, is a bit strange, but that's okay. At least it's unusual.

My screen name is the name of a hamster I once had. :)

feb. 16, 2010, 12:57 pm

I have the same name on LT and BC. I have only released a few books. I just haven't found any that I wanted to get rid of. I haven't been able to find a close group of BCer's yet either. I was supposed to go to a meet up on Super Bowl Sunday and decided against it because 1. it was the super bowl and 2. we received over a foot or more of snow.

I do want to either meet up with them or find a closer group to me. I just don't want to travel hours to meet people just yet.

feb. 16, 2010, 1:41 pm

I have the same name on BC too. I just released my first book! My sister got it from freelunch via member giveaway here, she gave it to me, and I gave it to a friend yesterday.

Getting it inspired me to join. I ordered some bookplates and bookmarks and I'm going to start.

feb. 16, 2010, 7:31 pm

--> 60

Too bad you're in central Pennsylvania, Monica. There's an active Bookcrossing group in Audubon, Pennsylvania. I think that's near Philadelphia. Sometimes they come down to Baltimore to meet the DC area group (my group, called BC in DC) at The Book Thing. It's always fun when we get together. Maybe you should start your own Central Pennsylvania Bookcrossing group? What'cha think?

feb. 16, 2010, 7:35 pm

--> 61

I find Bookcrossing so much fun. Glad you're enjoying it as well. Just realize that most people who receive Bookcrossing books don't end up journaling them, despite the effort we all make in having them do so. Nevertheless, that makes the journal entries of those who do journal BookCrossing books all the more exciting. Enjoy!

feb. 16, 2010, 7:47 pm

63 SqueakyChu

Yeah, I read some forum posts about where are good places to leave books and there were quite a few posters who were bitter about people not journaling. I'll try not to become one of the bitter ones :D

Editat: feb. 16, 2010, 7:59 pm

In my experience (before I stopped counting), I've gotten about 10% of my books journaled. What is really odd, though, is that the people who are least likely to journal books are those to whom I explain exactly how to do the journaling. The people who are most likely to journal the books (beside active Bookcrossers) are those people who find a book at random. Go figure! :D

Did you know that you can set your profile page here at LibraryThing to directly link to your profile page on BookCrossing? Just add BookCrossing to your "Also On..."

feb. 16, 2010, 8:03 pm

I hadn't thought about it (the direct linkage) but I knew it was possible, yeah.

That's really weird about who does and doesn't journal the books! I'm sure there's a psychology experiment in there somewhere :P

feb. 17, 2010, 8:25 am

Squeaky, I actually live in Delaware County near the Delaware Border and outside of Philadelphia. I am thinking of going to the meeting in Audubon in a few weeks if I can talk my hubby into driving me there or going with me. I just wish there was one in Delaware county.
I have noticed that there is one person who does alot of wild releases in Delaware County. I just need to tak the time and send her a message to see if she lives in the vacinity and to see if she is in a group.

I just released my first book. I have been taking baby steps and doing it really slow. I have to start looking for books when I am out and about and possibly leave some just sitting around. My first release was a controlled one. I sent it someone and hope that maybe they will journal the book or at the least pass it on to someone else.

feb. 17, 2010, 7:51 pm

If you're close enough to Audubon, Pennsylvania, that's the group to join because they're a very active group. That's what you want. If you go one of their meetings, give regards to everyone from SqueakyChu of BC in DC.

I have to start looking for books when I am out and about

Have you signed up for release alerts?

feb. 17, 2010, 10:26 pm

Yes I have signed up for release alerts. The only problem is they are all at places that are about hour away or more. I work all day and don't get to go out to the malls like King of Prussia. The group in Audubon is in Montgomery County. I just have to try and find my way there. I am known to get lost very easily. Terrible sense of direction when it comes to driving in my car. I have received alerts but sometimes I don't check my email for a few days or weeks and by then I figure the books are gone.

feb. 17, 2010, 10:43 pm

Hi crazy4reading. Sometimes books do go fast (I never bother tracking down books that have been wild released in a park, for instance; and ones released on public transport are instantly gone as I'm never going to be able to get the same bus/train!). But sometimes books also do linger for a while. I've released many books in cafes, and they tend to stick around for quite a while (sometimes I have to go and shake them loose by moving them to a park or a bus!).

Have fun releasing!

feb. 18, 2010, 8:55 am

Hi Wookiebender. That is what I figured because a few of the books have been released on transit which I know I won't be able to catch. Some released in the mall I know I won't find because the mall is about an hour away from me. There is a cafe that I have to visit because I think there are books there. I just need to have the time to search for the books.

I now need to feel comfortable releasing books in the wild. I think once I find a book I will feel more comfortable releasing books.

feb. 18, 2010, 9:23 am

I'd suggest going to the mall, asking for Lost Property and seeing if any of the books are in there - a friend of mine did that with good results and thrilled a load of BCers who suddenly heard back from their books!

feb. 18, 2010, 9:43 am

Ah I never thought of that. Thanks LyzzyBee. I should tell my daughter to do that since she is closer to that mall then I am.

març 31, 2010, 4:36 pm

Yep. I'm the one and only Glanecia, and I use that name everywhere online ... that is, I'm the one and only until someone else decides to use this made-up name. lol

abr. 1, 2010, 2:25 am

Yes - I am pinkozcat just about everywhere: LT, Bookcrossing, yahoo, blog.

Not my main web page, though and I can never remember exactly what I called it so I have to google it to find it.

maig 25, 2010, 1:09 pm

I am Canadateagirl on Bookcrossing, BCteagirl here and on bookmooch :P

oct. 30, 2010, 6:02 am

Yes, edwinbcn = edwinbcn

oct. 30, 2010, 3:21 pm

Yes, and on BookMooch and PBS/SwapCD/DVD, and everywhere :) I do that to avoid confusing myself.

nov. 29, 2011, 11:53 pm

Yes, I have the same name on both sites. In fact, I use the same name (almost) everywhere. The few places where I am not seldombites are because either it was already taken, or the sight doesn't let you change your username.

des. 26, 2011, 5:53 pm

Yes, I do! I just registered here, in fact I do have some more than the one book that you can see in my library here!

nov. 9, 2012, 9:18 am

Yes, of course

nov. 9, 2012, 1:55 pm

Yep - same here and on BC!

nov. 9, 2012, 9:58 pm

Ooops! I am not pinkozcat on my blog. There I am minnie la rose; same name with a french slant.

març 30, 2013, 9:48 pm

Yes, it is.
