Okay, yet another book challenge for me to try. I do like to broaden my horizons, which can get very limited sometimes, so this sounds great. And super hard! Since that is a lot of books, I will count books that I have already read, as will as books that I finish from here on in.

Just to keep things organized, I think I'll post each main number in the DD system as a new message, and add books as I finish them.

And now, just to betray my ignorance, can anyone tell me about those dewey decimal numbers that are listed as "not assigned or no longer used"? Are there still books with those numbers, or do we not count them? I admit, I never really learned that whole dd system before computers came along and replaced it in the libraries. :)

I'm personally hoping to find books in the "no longer used" categories eventually, but at this point I have no idea which ones were actually never assigned versus no longer used. I figure I have plenty of other categories to choose from right now, so I'm not going to worry about those ones until I get closer to the end--which is pretty far off!

Thanks! That sounds like a reasonable approach to me. Oh my goodness, there are so many different categories. I don't think I know what I'm getting into.
