Thanksgiving

So how was everyones thanksgiving? Mine was good...it was the first time I had to do all the cooking! My mom last year said she wasnt going to do it anymore ...and I had never cooked a turkey before! And guess what I burned half of it....lol...but it was the only thing that was messed up...i did great on the rest...best ham we ever had...who figured mt. dew was good on ham? lol

Mt. Dew on ham is an inspired idea, I never would have thought of it! We went to my Aunt and Uncle's which is usual. Our contribution was Kielbasa in BBQ sauce, my husband's chocolate moose chip pie, oreo cream pie and my son's pecan/cranberry pie.

The best part about it is that my son's football team won their last game which was also his last high school football game ever (he's a senior). They didn't have a very good season so it was nice that they won. I've never been so excited about a sport's event ever!

yea it was a cool recipe i found on the net...i couldn't believe everyone liked it so much! I wouldnt tell them how i cooked it until i figured out if it was good or not..lol

Yea my soon played on the pee wee team this year. It was his first year to play...he's very serious about it! lol his whole team is...I couldnt believe it! They did really good...they were not scored upon at all ,then they won the superbowl 12-0!

on the ham and mt dew idea, I cook my ham in cola, it melts that fat and the meat is so tender and yummy, you then reduce the cola stock and make a fab glaze, or use the stock to cook red cabbage. I did cherry cola ham this year, very nice!

Wow! That sounds so good its making my mouth water! hmmm...I think I will try that one out next year! Does it have a strong cherry taste?

not too much, it's more a hint/infusion. I prefer just plain cola. It's a nigella lawson recipe, out of her 'feast' cookbook.
