What yal are reading now?

Yesterday I read Single White Vampire (Argeneau Vampires, Book 3) by Lynsay Sands .....I really didnt like it as much as her other books....I thought is was kind of slow and boring at times....dont get me wrong it was still a good book tho....

Today I am reading Dead after dark which is by several authors....Is it me or do you think that when there is 3 or 4 stories in a book, that they rush through the different stories just to get them over with? I do...to me it seems like they get the story going pretty good and then ends abruptly ! I dont know maybe its just me.What do yal think?

I am reading Turning, Blood Ties Book 1 by Jennifer Armintrout. After this I will be reading Biting the Bullet in the Jaz Parks Series by Jennifer Rardin. They are both awesome series, I definetly recommend.

#1: Oh, wow. Do you read a book a day, or were you just finishing up one and starting another? I haven't read either book you mentioned, but I remember reading one short story by Lynsay Sands in Dates from Hell which was pretty good. (I may add Holidays are Hell to my challenge (another anthology with Lynsay Sands in it).) But I agree--short stories can feel pretty rushed. I guess that's why I've learned to love them, because I don't have as much time as I used to to spend reading.

#2: It's been about a year since I've read The Turning*, but I remembered I liked it. (I'm assuming I did since I gave it 5 stars. :) I just wish I had her other books in the series so I could keep reading. Biting the Bullet--I'll have to look for that one. I love the cover, btw. Very eye-catching.

Paranormal-wise, I'm finishing New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. Yes, I jumped on that bandwagon. :) It's not too shabby, except I wish her books weren't so long. And what's the point of a good paranormal romance when the vampire hero is absent for 3/4 of the story? I don't want to, but I may give this one 4 stars instead of 5 just because of that. :(

(*Touchstones the wrong title.)

>3 saraslibrary: I felt like that reading New Moon too. However, I did think the last few chapters he was in kind of made up for it (kind of, sort of).

I'm currently reading The Frog Prince: A Fairy Tale for Consenting Adults.

I have my first Paranormal 999 Challenge book all lined up and ready to go on January 1. It came in from the library much sooner than I anticipated it would, Vampire Academy by Richelle Meade.

#4: I did think the last few chapters he was in kind of made up for it (kind of, sort of).

I know what you mean. I'm right at that part where Edward's apologizing to Bella. (For some reason, it's taking me forever to finish it.)

Oh, wow. You already have your first book ready? I'm still trying to finish up my 2008 reads. :D Good luck!

#4 Vampire Academy that is an awesome on to start with. I have read all of them, I am having to buy the 4th because the library did not have it. I believe Richelle Mead to be a AWESOME AUTHOR!!

#3 Biting the Bullet is the third book in the Jaz Parks series, definetly if you like romance, paranormal, and action you should read this series. It is one of my favorites. I have the second Blood ties book at home Possession by Jennifer Armintrout, I will be reading it next.

TO EVERYONE GOOD LUCK ON YOUR 999 CHALLENGES. And thank you Angileyes for inviting us.

My current read is The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. It's my book club selection for the month of January. After that, I'm going to get started on some paranormals! 81 books... gotta get ready!

It's been awhile since I've read The Phantom Tollbooth, but I remember I liked it. What do you think of it so far?

des. 30, 2008, 7:06pm

This was the third time I've read it. I read it as a child, then again in college as we were going to choreograph an dance concert around the themes, and now for my book club. I love it. It has such great word play and if you want to simply read it as a fun book, you can. If you want to delve deeper and look for social commentaries, you can do that as well. It was a quick and fun read and I recommend it to people who are stumped for what they should read.

I'm starting my books today! I'm going to start with Lilith Saintcrow :D

Nice choice, cflorente! :) I've been wanting to start her Dante Valentine series for a long time now, but I'm missing book #1. I have all the others, which makes it kind of frustrating. I've just gotta keep looking, I guess.

Anyway, I started Holidays Are Hell by Kim Harrison, Lynsay Sands, Marjorie M. Liu, and Vicki Pettersson. I had wanted to start it months back when I got it, but I wanted to save it for my Paranormal Challenge. It's kind of "meh" so far. I'm almost done with the first story, "Two Ghosts for Sister Rachel", by Kim Harrison. Maybe the others will get better.

I hope that Holidays are Hell is a good one - i wanted to pick it up. Let me know how it goes :)

#2 I went and got the book Once bitten, twice shy book by Jennifer Rardin yesterday! I cant wait to start that series! You said it was a good one and I told you already how I am about having to start from the first one...So I hope you are right and I will love it!

#3 Yea I do read 1 to 2 books every day ...my grandma always told me if you want to keep your mind sharp when you are older you have to read alot...and so I have every since high school!

#6 I absolutey love the Vampire Academy series!! I actually cried when I read the last one....and I'm dying to read the next one! If you like that series you would like the A House of Night series by P.C. Cast as well.

gen. 7, 2009, 10:12pm

I got a little sidetracked the other day and started reading another book: Night Bites: Vampire Stories by Women edited by Victoria A. Brownworth. I haven't heard of any of the authors, so this will be interesting.
