I have just finished the best review I have ever read of the discovery of the first great European civilization, which evolved in isolation on the island of Crete, simultaneously with the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt and China. It reviews the work of Heinrich Schliemann and Arthur Evans, who discovered the forgotten empire while investigating the Trojan War, as prosecuted by the Achaeans of what is now Greece. The Achaeans inherited the sphere of influence of the Minoan Empire, and were later supplanted by the Greek speaking peoples. It's called 'THE BULL OF MINOS' by Leonard Cottrell.
The only flaw I noticed was that the text still contains the references to the location of illustrations as they were in the original publication in 1952, which are not valid in the new release.
