I recently read The Outward Urge by Wyndham. Here's my review:
Four stories (published in 1959) connect 200 years of a family whose members have a tendency to want to explore space, from a WWII pilot and his grandson, a space station worker in 1994, through a Moon base commander and members of the first mission to Mars and the first successful trip to Venus. Light-weight SF, typical of Wyndham, but quite enjoyable, with some haunting moments involving the loneliness and fear likely in such enterprises. 4 stars

Also, Stowaway to Mars, 3 stars, written in 1935 and one of his earliest efforts. I apparently didn't review it, but if you're a Wyndham fan, it's worth finding a copy.

In my youth I really enjoyed reading John Wyndam's stories. I don't recall reading The Outward Urge however. Stowaway to Mars I did read many years ago, so long I've completely forgotten it!

The Outward Urge may be hard to find. I borrowed it through ILL.
