Has anyone actually finished tagging all their books?

It seems to be a never-ending process with me.

I think I'm done. But then, I pretty much tag everything as I enter it.

Admittedly, I have a bunch that I have not yet tagged in the first place -- but I keep looking through ones I have tagged and thinking of even more tags to apply to them. :)

I second # 2. Just like lilithcat, I tag my books when I enter them. It saves time.
Who knows, perhaps eventually I might change some tags, but not for the time being.

I keep finding more things to tag my books with even after tagging them on entry.

I have a tagging system for my library books... so, I'm done... until I get some more, that is. ;)

I tag as I enter my books, and since my web browser saves form entries, and since a lot of my books are similar in topic, I can just reuse the same tag sets.

Most of the time I'll enter a title, start typing "Biology" (normally I get to the o) and then I just scroll down and enter the right set.

I tag most of my books as I enter them, but I have some books that I haven't read yet. I don't know what to tag them. So, when I get around to reading them, I'll probably go back and do it then.

I now tag books as I enter them but I still have to go back and tag the books I entered at the beginning. I also still have books to enter and, when I think, I've entered and tagged everything, I plan to look at my tag system and see if I want to tweak it in any way.

Lately, I've become absorbed in combining/separating, adding disambiguation notices, and adding author links, so I haven't been paying much attention to tagging.

I've tagged all of my books in that all of my books have tags, and I think everything has a "fiction" or "nonfiction" tag, at least. I expect I'll be going back and adding tags as I think of new categories, though.

I tag books in rough categories when I add them to the database (and that took a while with the initial library!), and then add more detailed ones when I read or re-read them. They're "finished" in that I wouldn't have tags to add if I sat down and started going through looking for more things to tag, but the set of tags isn't static.

All of my books have tags, but I'm constantly adding/tweaking them, especially as I read a book.

I was tagging like crazy when I first started entering books. I had 48 tags on a history of ancient civs book! I realized it would take forever and I'd never, never search on most of the tags I was using, so I developed a system. Now I usually end up with 4-8 tags per book. I don't use what I consider "drive-by" tags -- random tags added on the fly that have *something* to do with the book but don't help me locate it in my library.

The only books that don't have tags are the recently added books I've bought -- well, even these have a tag, actually: 2btagged
