Anyone know watched Avatar the Last airbender?
There's a vivid tea-drinker in that anime series.

Here's one of my favourite quotes:
Iroh: "Bleh! This is nothing but hot leaf juice! We'll have to make some maor changes around here!"
Zuko: "Uncle, that's what all tea is!"
Iroh (glaring at his nephew): "How could anyone of my own family make such a horrible comment!"

lol.
Any how, what's your favourite tea?
Mine's a mild yet flavourful tea...that's served in many tea shops in Myanmar. No, I'm not talking about the tea salad,I'm talking about the tea.
Its simple to make, but inly teh best can get out that flavour that makes it so....wonderful.

Hahaha! Gotta love Uncle Iroh. Shoot, gotta love Avatar!=^_^=

I like Green Tea and Mint Tea (^_- Call me origanal). I'm hoping to start making my own tea next spring. I just bought a mint plant from walmart and Lavender seeds from orchard =^_^= I'm hoping to be able to get both commen tea plants and the odd wild tea plants (like chickweed & Dandelion)

This winter I'll hopefully be making Rosehip Tea so that I can sit in frount of a fire with my cats (Saruko and Hana-hime) and my 'Reader'. =^_^= Heaven...

My favorite character in the series. Been too scared to watch the live action movie. It looked nothing like the series. I really liked to the episode when he accidentally poisons himself trying to make tea from a rare plant.

I am stuck with tisanes with the occasional cup of real tea after a large meal. Something about the plant just bothers my stomach (still waiting for the bionic ones to be invented). Rooibos is a decent enough substitute. Lots of chamomile, too, but peppermint is verbotten.

My high school junior turned me onto the cartoon Avatars because of my affinity with hot leaf juice. Love him! (Can't bring myself to watch the live action version.)

Oh, dear.  I'm just a tad late for this discussion, but I'm very happy to see that others are fans of this wonderful show!  Alas, Korra has nothing so awesome as Uncle Iroh.  To be honest, I've been altogether unimpressed with the sequel series.

Have seen a few of the new ones...I do like the art style; the story itself isn't doing a lot for me.

They went all out with their animation, and it's absolutely gorgeous!  I'm working on a critical review of Korra's first season, and I don't plan on watching their second.  They've really disappointed me.

I *love* Uncle Iroh (and Avatar)! I've been a bit of a lurker here but had to post once I saw this thread bumped to the top. :-)

My favourite Uncle Iroh quote is

"My own tea shop?! It is a dream come true!"

Korra was a bit of a disappointment initially but I thought it really came together in the last few episodes of the season. Those were well written. And Lin BeiFong kicked ass.

The main problem was that the kids took too long to bond. It wasn't instant camaraderie the way it was with Aang et al which was the highlight of that series.

And since this is a Tea! thread, my favourite tea is a bold Assam or a fragrant Darjeeling. Sometimes blended -- which is spectacular.

Lin BeiFong kicked ass, but the story never came together for me.  There were no hints given one way or another on character relations, the only relationships anyone seemed to care about were Tenzin&Lin or Korra&???, and everything was ret-con'd in at the end.  Each episode was a separate entity with no real consequences or impact on the story.  Since shipping is most important to the new wave of fans, I'll use this example: Korra shattered Bolin's heart, and he's supposed to be okay with that by the end of the episode?  Not in this lifetime!  As for the characters themselves, they were nowhere near as developed as those from Last Airbender.

My biggest disappointment was their portrayal of Tenzin's children.  I brag about how they don't talk down to children in TLA, and how the writers really seem to understand children.  In Korra, the only words I can use to describe them is spastic and gross.  I have a better understanding of Mang from The Fortuneteller than I do of any of Tenzin's kids, and they had more screen time.

I guess the important thing is that the people at Nickelodeon studios can feed their families.  I'll bet they drink Lipton.

Gah I wrote a whole post in response to you and it vanished!

*shakes fist impotently*

I will write it again later.

Oh, I hate it when that happens!  You put so much time and effort into it, and then the browser takes it away.  I was once so upset about a post disappearing that I didn't bother coming back to it for somewhere on the order of a month!  I guess we just have to remind ourselves...

I drank a lychee red today.  Delicious! ^_^

I am currently drinking some truly awful Paul DeLima tea because I left my tea leaves at home, my work has an eclectic collection of crappy tea bags and the only other option was coffee (worse!).

I will re-write my Defence of Korra because there were some good things in it post a little later. To cut it short though, I thought the last four episodes really brought a lot of stuff together (despite the ret-conning) and they did give the kids one good scene. :-)

On the whole I agree with your criticism of the show but see above for personal feelings.

I love Uncle Iroh so much, I added the Jasmine Dragon to my employment history on Facebook!
