I just can't wait!
I was a little disappointed with the second one - seemed like it relied too much on CG. But there was Jack...and Elizabeth chucking rocks at the boys... so my disappointment was quite minor.

Huzzah for the Pirates!

I can't wait, either. Too bad I can't look at the website while I'm at work (no flash!).

The second one was very much "getting from here to there." But still, you get to look at Johnny & Orly for 3 hours, so who cared?

Personally, I was rather partial to the kraken in the second movie. :) (no, truly.. I'm fascinated by giant squid.)

I was rather partial to the discussion on how to pronounce "kraken" in the second movie... ("It's a mythological creature; I can pronounce it however I like!") :) Pintel and Ragetti are illiterate pirate love.

Can't wait for this, I agree the 2nd one was a fill in till the last one, but unlike the Matrix series, it was still fab and I still want to watch the last one.

I have an 'I love Captain Jack' keyring on my car keys with a lovely picture of the man himself....

We waited long enough for some decent pirate movies

Yo Ho Yo Ho, a pirates life for me..

I just couldn't get into the second one that much. I'll admitt it had its good scenes, though, but at a midnight showing you really need to be hold my attention better.

I saw the Pirates 3 preview just last week! Looks great, hopefully my theater gets a midnight showing again! :)

The second one was not as good as the first, but I still can't wait to watch the third! They are going to Singapore & they meet an eastern pirate lord, Jack comes back, and there is a mega battle-East India trading company(with the help of the Flying Duchmen and its crew) vs. all other pirates! Yippie! Can't wait to see it!

Me too! Plus, I'm excited that it comes out two days before my twenty-first birthday. That's going to be a freaking awesome weekend.

OH NO! I think it comes out while I'm in Europe...
I'm going to have to languish all summer :-(

#11, or you could just see it in Europe. German release date is May 24th in both English and German. It will also be available in other countries then.

Thank GOODNESS! Back when I lived in Germany we usually had to wait three or four months at least to get movies out. But I guess this one was so popular that they went for a world release date.

Almost all big budget movies are released at the same time (or just after) the American release dates now in Germany, so you can watch anything you like here, but if you want to watch it in English you have to hunt down a cinema that plays everything in the original language...most cinemas only do overdubs here. If you want to watch Pirates in Germany, look for OMU or OF (original with subtitles or Original dubbing) in the cinema schedule or you'll end up with the German version.

Am I the only one who gets goosebumps while watching the trailer when it gets to the last little bit when it shows Jack and Davey Jones sword fighting? I don't know why it happens, but I get them every time I watch it.

Was anybody else noticing the spoofs in the second one? I remember several, though the only one that comes to mind at the moment was when they were stuck in that giant wicker ball and it went rolling away, like the boulder that chased Indiana Jones in...er...the Raiders of the Lost Ark? Or was it the Search for the Holy Grail? I can't remember.

It has been declared by myself that today is Pirates of the Caribbean day. If you have any Pirate clothing or other usable ideams, like a pillowcase, wear them around to show your pirate spirt. Arrrrrrrgggggggg. can't wait to see the movie tonight.!!

I am wearing a lovely black miniskirt with Christopher Condent's pirate flag on it (three jawless skulls'n'xbones down the side). I admit I am not wearing any of my four different pirate tshirts, or my pirate sweatshirt (I will to the movies, though... wtf is up with cinema AC?), but I am still feeling piratey. (Also, I have boots.)

Most of my pirate clothing is from piratemod.com, which does tasteful black clothing with piratey designs on it, and most of my other clothing is just black. Which means that, despite identifying as a pirate, I usually look more like a ninja (also, 'cos I am quiet). What the hell.

Yarr!

I saw Pirates 3 last night. I loved it!!!! It was 10 times better than the 2nd one. If you go to see it, stay until the end of the credits. Loved it!!!!!!!!!!

Is it as good as it's expected to be? Tell me, I want to see it, but I have to convince my friends to see it with me... that will be very hard!

21thecynicalromantic

Idunno... I quite enjoyed it. But it's more of a fun movie in a ridiculous way than really a "this is a good, solid movie" way like Black Pearl was.

Oh, and the plotlines get really, really complicated sometimes.

22littlegeek
maig 28, 2007, 9:55pm

I agree, it was unnecessarily complicated. I loved the Keith Richards scene.

Definitely stay until the after-credits bonus scene. Great eye candy!

maig 29, 2007, 7:14am

I think I actually like the third better than the first. Plot lines are quite complicated, but I've seen it twice now and it all makes more sense. :) Lots of double-crossers being double-crossed, which gets confusing. But it all makes sense in the end whether you follow each little piece or not.

Probably not as "solid" as Black Pearl, as cynical says, but I loved the way it ended. And I love the characters, and I'll read/watch about anything if I love the characters. I agree with littlegeek: The Kieth Richards scene was great. He was a fun addition to the cast.

The post-credits scene is wonderful. :D

Personally, I hated the end of the movie until I went home and saw that Disney cut a scene explaining the terms of Davy Jones's cursed lifestyle.

I never would have waited till the end of the credits if I hadn't been warned here first and there were a LOT of credits to wait for...

I saw it with my wife last night. Two out of five stars.

What a mess! The plot was too complicated and too hard to follow.

I couldn't even understand or hear what Chow Yun Fat's character was trying to say half of the time.

The second film was by far my favourite.

Seriously. >.> It was like they were trying to make the mother of all organized crime movies.

Except that wait... PIRATES WEREN'T ORGANIZED. Or they weren't one gigantic worldwide crime syndicate, at any rate.

I LOVED the third movie!!! It was awesome! The after credits scene was wonderful! I have to buy it on DVD as soon as it comes out!

I really enjoyed it, plot-holes and all. The sea battle at the end was quite dissapointing, though, with only two ships actually engaging each other. The end made me sad. :( More!
