This will be the 49th annual Art&BookFair presented by the Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide (AAFSW). We have been in existence since 1960, making us one of the oldest continuous book sales in the Washington area. The AAFSW uses the funds raised through the event to award scholarships and to support community projects.

In addition to thousands of used books of all sorts, you will find that the ART CORNER has been considerably expanded. In fact, this expansion is reflected in our new name, the ART&BOOKFAIR. There is a variety of items including fabric, pottery, porcelain, jewelry, wood objects, baskets, paintings and frames. Our STAMP CORNER features items for both the new and the experienced collector. COLLECTOR’S CORNER offers rare and more valuable books for the collector and the connoisseur. These books carry higher prices than our general books but are still reasonable.

SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS: The Department of State is a secure federal government building and identification is required to enter. Magnetometers are used by the Diplomatic Security Service and DSS officers patrol ART&BOOKFAIR. Backpacks, strollers and shopping bags are not allowed and may be checked outside the Exhibit Hall. A secure check station is provided inside the Exhibit Hall for prospective purchases so that you may assemble items until you are ready to purchase. (No books may be piled on the floor pending purchase.)
