While I did enjoy this book more than the first one, I still found it difficult to follow at moments. Also, the lack of chapters was something I had to get used to. But I know this is one of Pratchett's "hallmarks" so to speak. Now that I have finished the "experimental works" I'm looking forward to starting the Witches' series in the coming weeks. ( ) I'm pretty sure I've read this before, but if I did, I forgot the entire plot, so it was like reading it again for the first time. Cool! I appreciated the bond between Rincewind and Twoflower, and even Luggage and Rincewind. We get a lot of character development for Rincewind, though he still maintains his goofy-ass demeanor. I think it was well-paced and it helped that it was a continuous novel, compared to the sort of mini-novellas The Colour of Magic is made up of. The end even made me a little sad! I appreciated that this wasn't just full on shenanigans the whole time and that there is some deeper feelings to it. Terry Pratchett's profoundly irreverent, bestselling novels have garnered him a revered position in the halls of parody next to the likes of Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, and Carl Hiaasen. In The Light Fantastic, only one individual can save the world from a disastrous collision. Unfortunately, the hero happens to be the singularly inept wizard Rincewind, who was last seen falling off the edge of the world. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
