Advanced reading copy as new Matt Marshall made millions after serving in Vietnam. He died suddenly at age fifty-one. Shortly before his death, he changed his will so that half of his $105 million dollar estate will go to a daughter he fathered in Vietnam. He had never met this daughter, although he tried. He sets up a condition that the daughter be alive and living in the United States. Private Investigator, Adam Bruno, son of a bookie, is hired to find the woman. However, since Marshall's family stands to lose half of their estate they not only are not helpful but do what they can to make his investigation fail. Although Matt's friends from the war were hesitant to talk about their time in Vietnam, Adam is persuasive and finally interviews the survivors. When he gets a lead that looks promising, that person is killed. Adam continues his search while holding off the family and the family lawyers who claim that he is not doing his job and should be replaced. A touching story that was well done. Bruno is a likable character and easy to sympathise with. The woman he gets to translate letters written in Vietnamese, Nicole Maldonado was a wonderful character. The conclusion was particularly well done and is a scene that should be filmed. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
