This is a very strange book. The text on the back cover tells what happens (has happened).
Which seems impossible. Is impossible. Probably. For now.
A book that puts two (4, 6?) view, worlds in an equation as X and Y. The book got a grip on me, I keep reading till the end, curious to find out how the writer would deal with that what happened and its explanation.
And the given ending fits the rest of the book just fine. At least in my humble opinion. ( )

A molti vedo che non è piaciuto, e, se lo si prende per un thriller e si aspetta di sapere chi/come/quando/perché capisco che sia una delusione, perché invece il libro è volto alla ricerca dell'accettazione che non vi siano sempre spiegazioni plausibili. due anime immobilizzate nelle rispettive paludi si incontrano e, dall'analisi dell'inspiegata/inspiegabile strage troveranno la forza giusta per abbandonare la palude.

This is a fascinating book and probably one of the better reads for me this year. The book starts off with what seems to be the setting of a detective-novel: a group of people is found brutally murdered in the woods near a small and remote hamlet in the Italian dolomites. The eyes of the world turn to the small community that is shocked and desperate about what has happened.
The story is told by two protagonists, a priest who wants to help his flock and wants to overcome the madness and insanity that slowly creeps in and a young psycho-analist who has left her overpowering boyfriend and wants to help the priest to cure the community. Despite their noble efforts, things evolve differently than expected.
This might have been a corny story with the traditional contrast between man-woman, faith-reason, old-young, city-hamlet, etc. It is not. Instead it is a very delicate, gentle, sensitive, thoughtful yet sometimes humorous, multi-layered story in which there's plenty of room for insightful thoughts and imagination. ( )

Ich habe noch nie ein Buch gelesen, dass mich so sehr zwischen zwei Extremen hin und her gerissen hat. Teilweise habe ich mich durch Seiten gequält und teilweise habe ich Seiten regelrecht verschlungen. Der Start war sehr viel versprechend und dann wurde es leider etwas zäh, bis die Protagonistin schließlich am Ort des Geschehens ankommt. Dort folgen psychologische Gespräche mit den Dorfbewohnern, die einiges aus der Vergangenheit ans Licht bringen, was ich wieder sehr spannend fand, während sich auf der anderen Seite die Gedanken der Psychiaterin und des Pfarrers wie Gummi dahin zogen. Auch das Assoziationsgespräch der beiden über Theologie und Glauben einerseits und Psychologie und Wissenschafts andererseits hat zwar interessant angefangen, aber irgendwann dann an Schwung verloren. Der Klappentext ist hier etwas irreführend, da nicht die Todesfälle sondern die Vergangenheit und gegenwärtige Entwicklung der Dorfbewohner (sehr schön detailliert beschreiben) im Mittelpunkt stehen. Dafür hätte es aber meiner Meinung nach die Todesfälle nicht gebraucht. ( )
